Terrible management has destroyed the spirit
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Used to be a great place to work with fantastic and competent colleagues and an interesting, challenging product. Not sure, if there is enough left of this to revive it. Right now it feels more like a zombie.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
All of the above.
Too much talk about leadership and values, without actually implementing most of it. Massive leadership problems. No real perspective for the future.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Upper management still has a long way to go to rebuild trust. How this could possibly be achieved with the current lack of respect for employees, I don't know.
Most importantly: Start to listen for real and then act on what employees are telling you. They know what the problems are, because they have to deal with them on a daily basis. And don't assume people are stupid, don't assume that they can be deluded with some fluffy marketing talk and fancy metaphors. They can see right through you.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Lack of trust, especially towards upper management. It's full of lies and politics now and many employees have no trust in anything that is being said top-down. Little respect for long-standing employees. People who have given many years of their life to the company are being fired from one day to the next, without even considering other solutions to all the self-inflicted problems.
Kommunikation
Top-down mostly and impossible to have faith in many things that are being communicated. A lot is being discussed behind closed doors in a very intransparent manner.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
It's still ok, but gradually being undermined by the overall atmosphere. Many experienced and competent veterans have left voluntarily or are being fired, which negatively affects the overall composition of the teams.
Work-Life-Balance
It's ok, if you look after yourself. If people work to exploit themselves, they are appreciated and promoted more. So, if you want to get ahead in here, it's best to ignore your responsibilities outside the company, such as family, or offload them to your partner, keep the head down and focus on technical stuff only.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Used to be good, but has taken quite a hit in the last two years. A lot of new people have been brought in, who don't understand the special spirit (which doesn't really exist anymore anyways). Some people think they can apply their US corporate nonsense style, which leads to a lot of alienation. Other, more long-standing leaders have given up on trying to prevent this deplorable development.
Interessante Aufgaben
Some tasks are ok and could be interesting, but the prospects aren't great in general. Many people have doubts, if the transition to the new architecture will work out in the end.
Gleichberechtigung
No discrimination against anyone. But respect for people with outside responsibilities could be better.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
Personally, I haven't observed any issues here in day-to-day work. But when it comes to firing people, there doesn't seem to be a social plan or, if there is one, it's kept secret.
Arbeitsbedingungen
Office location is pretty bad and hard to reach by public transport. Furniture far away from modern standards. Ping pong table is nice.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
Huge potential for improvement here. Some small measures, such as electricity from renewables, but for instance there is no structured plan to reduce the carbon footprint, as one would expect in this day and age.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Generaly below market conditions and very uneven distribution. How much you get and what depends highly on your personal negotiation skills and likability.
Image
Getting worse and worse .
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Not comparable at all to other software companies in Munich. There is hardly any individual support for what people want to learn, unless you push for it. Even then, you might get a few hundred €s where other companies provide a few thousand € p.a. for things like external training, conferences etc.
In terms of career progress, your best bet is to not criticize or try improve anything on the organisational level, but instead join the self-congratulatory choir of censhare fanboys (and girls).
