There was nothing I could point out as an improvement for Cinemo as everything happened very smoothly, the communication was fast and the whole approach was well structured.
The questions covered both general software development and frontend development, starting from basic to advanced levels.
Best recruiting process I’ve had. I can only say nice things about the recruiter that was on my case, as I told her, she and Cinemo made my process very humane and smooth. The recruiter was always very nice, her responses were timely and transparent. The process took 4 weeks and it went as follows:
First interview with recruiter and design lead was very nice, and gave me an idea of the team, the company and their work ways.
3-4 days after my first call, I received an offline task. It was very specific and well written which I appreciated. The amount of time I had to complete the task was enough, fair and respectful: 8h total and one week to deliver it.
About a week or so after, I received an invitation for a Trial Day. It was my first time participating in one of these and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. I first had a quick conversation with my recruiter who was extremely nice, then, I presented my offline task to the UX Lead. Her feedback really felt like a conversation, I felt like we were working together already. Afterwards I had 4 hours to complete a task with lunch in between, and finally I had 30min to present my solution to 2 UX leads, and 2 other members of the company. I think this task was hard to do in 4 hours, and the questions brought up during the presentations were also hard to answer. My advice: you have to be able to make decisions quickly to the best of your ability with the information you have, and your knowledge and experience really play a big part in successfully delivering a solution and answering questions.
At the end of the day I was very very tired but also very very sure I wanted to work at this company. Everyone was nice, professional and showed interest in getting to know me better. It also showed me that this is a challenging role and a challenging industry and that there’s a lot of space to grow and learn.
After a successful trial day, I received an invitation for a last call (a week after my trial day), and after that finally got an offer! I’m looking forward to starting my journey at Cinemo. I believe that how companies handle recruiting processes says a lot about its culture and people you will work with, and Cinemo handled my process beautifully.
