Gleaming facade over a crumbling foundation - A great company that is starting to lose its soul.
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
- Full Remote work
- 28 vacation days is actually a luxury, can be extended to 32 or so
- Colleagues
- Benefits such as 100€ allowance per month
- The learnings and experience you gather in the company
- free Massages from a certified therapist
Even after all that’s said and done, I still think dealfront is a worthwhile workplace, great colleagues and big opportunity to learn and gather experience. So I’d recommend dealfront as an employer.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
- Salary
- Inconsistency in their communication
- Perks are a just a shadow of their former self
- flexibility is only a thing if you’re in the right team and department
- the promised flexible work times such as 4 days work weeks is not available for everyone
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Too many things to list out. But maybe it’s a good idea to hear out the employees of the company and tell certain people from Boston to calm down and get their full try hard capitalistic and corporate mentality back across the Atlantic ocean.
This is Europe, not the Wall Street.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Great working atmosphere. You learn so much in this company and there’s always people trying to help you succeed.
Kommunikation
Communication looks transparent on the surface, but a lot of things are hidden from employees and talked behind the backs (the c-level meetings). The fact that employees are not allowed to talk about salary is one of the Testaments to that.
There are also a lot of things getting downplayed at the moment and a lot of things are kind of contradictory. There’s shoutout to the team doing great work, than there’s another meeting where it is said that we are not growing enough. Goals keep increasing, pressure is climbing, workload is stacking, but pay is is stagnant.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
The best thing about this company are the people. They make work fun and they always have your back, you never get the feeling of being alone. It doesn’t take long to get comfortable at Dealfront.
Work-Life-Balance
The work is fully remote, remote as in you can work from anywhere, even from the Southpole in an igloo and a starlink satellite, so it’s already a big benefit to other companies.
Altough the flexibility depends on what position you have in the company. But compared to other companies it definitely has one of the better work life balance to offer.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Hands down, never have I had better teamleads than in this company. They usually support you in everything you want to do (if it makes sense of course) and there’s usually never a „No“ when asking for vacations. You can also be as honest as you want without you having to worry that you’re going to get in trouble.
Keep in mind, not every teamlead in the company is like that. I’ve seen few bad examples.
Interessante Aufgaben
Work is fun, you learn so much as Dealfront is moving so fast and agile, so the pace and pressure to keep up is high as well.
Gleichberechtigung
Everyone gets their chance, nobody is discriminated. But sometimes certain people tend to be kinda hard to deal with and think they are entitled or privileged to anything.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
Not much to say, everyone is treated well, never is there a lack of disrespect.
Arbeitsbedingungen
You can work with modern tools, the office space and the notebooks are new and up to industry standards.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
Company looks out for it. We separate trash and office management is looking out for it. Kudos to them.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Pay is below industry average. It’s always claimed that the company is looking for good talent but the pay is somehow below average, so how can you attract top talent with that?
It’s important to note that the remote option alleviates this a bit, but there are a bunch of companies out there that also offer full remote work but pay much higher.
Even tough the company is growing at a moderate pace and management is praising the team, salary will not increase. It’s still too slow for the executives (or rather the investors). Employees are let go due to various reason, but the truth is, the company is basically cutting costs and fires people, which is fine (it’s still a company and business at the end of the day) but it should be communicated as such.
So here comes the questions, what happens with the work that these ex colleagues did before they were asked to leave the company? Right, the work from them is distributed to the remaining employees. So more workload for us, and also increasing quarterly goals, more pressure, and all that for no pay raise? Sounds fair to me, dealfront helping you make a great deal like promised.
Image
I don’t know what marketing is doing but dealfront image is worse than worse. To the point that sales is operating in their legacy company names (Echobot and leadfeeder) because they are better known in the market.
A few LinkedIn posts every two days won’t make any difference, nobody knows about dealfront and there’s absolutely no brand or company recognition. Just googling dealfront will show leadfeeder or Echobot higher up on the search rankings cause they literally pay for the legacy brand in google ads instead of the dealfront.
Is this company even alive? The company dealfront should be lively and exciting, you should hear a bang, but all you hear is a single fall of a droplet and some grasshopper making noises at night.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Certain departments are doing great work in supporting their team to keep learning and acquire new knowledge with certificates, courses or going on exhibitions/congress/events/seminars. But a lot of teamleads don’t give a care about their teams career and pursuits.
There’s also no clear definitions on how to climb up in the company, or if there is ever going to be an opportunity to climb up. From what I’ve heard it’s currently a work in progress, but it’s still not that great not knowing what you’re really trying so hard for. You don’t know why you are pressuring yourself day in day out to give 150% for the company, you have no clarity on how you can get to the next level and you have no idea why you allow the company to pressure you into mental breakdown, but clearly - it’s not for the pay, because the pay is dogfood.
All that combined with an uncertainty that the company just might let you go because you’re not needed anymore or because your performance is „bad“, or if you’re really unlucky you get pushed into a position you don’t want and resign on your own.
