If you've been in contact with you-know-who a couple of times, you very likely go to work scared or become dead inside. Simply toxic.
Kommunikation
Has improved in the sense that major developments are shared in an all-hands on Friday evenings (!). However note that the old people and most managers write direct reports to you-know-who and the others in the inner circle that are not available to the rest. All business data is kept under wraps. Transparency = zero.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Some hold together. But especially the old guard consists of plenty of people who will throw you under the bus. Don't take it personally, they just don't want to get screamed at. But some also have integrity despite this toxic work environment.
Work-Life-Balance
Depending on your manager, vacation is most likely never granted as managers get screamed at when an employee is on vacation when they are needed for something. Management will question your commitment when you go home before 7 or take too long for a lunch break. As you-know-who works at least 70 hours a week, this is taken as reference and if you don't work the weekend to meet an arbitrary deadline, you will get screamed at.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Did I mention that you get screamed at a lot? If you are lucky you have a middle manager who takes most of the screaming for you. If you do anything significant in the company, however, you will get in direct contact. Priorities shift on a daily basis.
Interessante Aufgaben
Lots of interesting work and when you are not in the eye of attention you have plenty of space to experiment as any kind of effective mangement is impossible.

If you come back to work the day after birth, you have a fair shot.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
They are holding this company together for reasons that are beyond me. Probably because are only waiting for retirement and don't know different treatment as most of them have only worked with you-know-who for over 30 years. New people stay less than a year on average.

You get a fairly new MacBook and iPhone. The office is new and void of colors or variation.

Products in the office are usually bio.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
If your work is perceived as good, you get slightly above market compensation in an attempt to hold you. You are also promised equity but several lawyers have checked that this is not actually true. There have been also law suits against enfore due to overtime, not paid provision and/or vacation.

Almost everyone in Hamburg IT knows to avoid this place at all cost. People only stay a bit longer when they don't have alternatives.
