Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

The work atmosphere is excellent. Employees have the right to plan their own work days based on their time schedules and there is no micromanaging. I feel appricated and I can openly discuss development ideas and they are taken into consideration if it's something that is line with the company goals/culture/vision and can be improved.

As a company we acknowledge our weaknesses and celebrate our strength. It's easy to be proud of to be part of EPAM Systems. Most importantly we have very interesting IT projects and together with our clients we bring software technologies further!

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Employee benefits are not as good as with of our competitors, especially company car and pension plan would be appreciated.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

Organisational structure is sometimes slightly unclear, especially when one joins the company. It's difficult to identify who should be contacted when there might be few share holders for similar topics such as Cloud related questions and the key stake holder isn't necessarily in the same country as you. More simplyfied company structure (responsibility areas) or at least a clearer company structure chart would be appreciated.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

We started working from home mid of March 2020 due to the pandemics and it's continuing until further notice. Naturally it has affected cooperation when you can't meet your colleagues in the office but using MS Teams has worked well in our team and we haven't gone overboard with meetings which is also important. I would say cooperation works as smoothly as one can expect in special circumstances like this.

Work-Life-Balance

This highly depends on your individual planning skills. There is always something to do but it's every individuals responsibility to shut down the laptop when the work day is over. My manager has been very clear on this topic (weekends and evenings are for private life) and he doesn't want to see us burn down.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

This comes directly from my heart: I have never in my career has a metter manager than now. He is very knowledgeable in his field, very professional but still takes into consideration everyone's preferences and indicvidual strengts to his best knowledge.

Project goals are clearly planned (together, not coming from above) and in times of struggles one can always ask for help from the manager and the team to solve any issues.

Interessante Aufgaben

We have wide range of tasks to perform. Sometimes unexpected requests comes along and everyone in the team is ready to tackle them even if they aren't officially part of our job description. This keeps the work interesting and challenging in a good way.

Gleichberechtigung

Diversity is part of our company strategy and it's visible on every layer that we try hard to find the best talent to our organisation no matter what is the background of the applicant. We have very multinational working environment both internationally but also locally here in Germany. We have several female colleagues in various positions and as a female myself I can say that I feel that I definitely have same opportunities to advance my career as my male colleagues.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

We have a wide mix of people from different age groups but the majority here in Germany are 30-60 years old. We rarely have younger people because at the moment we are rahter focusing on hiring Senior IT specialists with 5-10+ years expereince. Nevertheless, age does not play a significant role in the hiring process but the actual experience.

Since I'm personally one of the younger generation here in Germany, I'm not the best person to evaluate how older employees feel they are supported in their daily life.

Arbeitsbedingungen

In the office the set up was pretty fine. Working from home puts some restrictions but everyone has gotten training about how to set up your home office to be up to the standards (how to position your computer, how to adjust your chair and lightning etc.) We also have an internal portal where everyone should confirm that they have all technical capabilities to work from home and if not, you can contact someone to go through the missing points and how to improve it.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Not completely sure. We recycle waste in the office but otherwise I'm not aware of the actions taken.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

The average salaries are not necessarily the highest in the market but rather based on market average. What makes it lucrative to work at EPAM is the good and fair bonus system. Individual who works hard and brings good results will get paid appropriate bonus and has a good chance to advance his/her career. When it comes to employee benefits we don't have much of them. For example there is no company car, pension plan or gym memberships offered but instead you are offered LinkedIn Learning and other trainings.
