Too much hypocrisy, not enough solidarity
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Some cool people that are great to work with.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Generally, the company culture is declining and has been severely hit this year. Maybe it'll manage to improve over the next few months, but if not, I'll need to explore my options.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Try more to live by your values and show more solidarity towards your employees - all of them. Or adjust your expectations.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Was great when I first started, but has seriously declined this year. I don't trust management anymore after everything that has happened.
Kommunikation
Not clear what information can be trusted anymore. Massive funding round only one year ago, massive lay-offs only a few months afterwards. External communication, e.g. on LinkedIn, also needs to be more sensitive towards all the colleagues that had to go. Look at the recent posts and think about how those that got fired might feel when seeing this.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Still good in some teams, but people have become a lot more cautious about what they will say to whom. Not as easy-going as is used to be.
Work-Life-Balance
Great place for workaholics who have no other time-consuming interests or commitments outside of work (family, friends, hobbies, children...). There are some internal measures to try promote work-life balance, but these are routinely ridiculed by people working late nights and weekends and even bragging about it. Some of these people have leadership roles (EMs and such) and should know better about what kind of example and expectations they are setting.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Some people are quite good and empathetic, but others don't really behave in line with the values. Also, for technical leadership, after a certain level people should focus on strategy and not be hands-on coding anymore (and when they do, they should lead by creating high-quality architectures and code, IMHO). Also, why fire so many and only a few weeks later start hiring again? Doesn't make sense.
Interessante Aufgaben
Technically interesting and challenging, especially when it comes to cloud infrastructure topics. However, actual software engineering skills are lacking a bit.
Gleichberechtigung
It's ok, but the higher one gets in the hierarchy, the more male it becomes.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
Hardly any, maybe because their contributions aren't valued as much as us youngsters with the latest hottest frameworks. Also, sometimes it seems the special situations of older colleagues are not taken into account enough (e.g. when they have a family to support).
Arbeitsbedingungen
Offices are good and please atmosphere. Lots of goodies, nice coffee. In terms of compensation, market adequate, but inflation needs to be compensated for urgently.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
Some good awareness, but doesn't solve the root problem about all the (air) travel that this business is causing. Cannot be compensated for by hosts taking measures to make their house a bit more eco-friendly.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
It's ok, but expectations are high for the next round of salary adjustments.
Image
Not so brilliant anymore, as far as I can tell.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Some offers for learning and development and a dedicated team behind it. Root problem, though, is that there is never enough time and pumping out features takes priority.
