Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Still many cool people that would be fun to work with (in a different place maybe)

The entire lay-off situation was handled in a terrible manner. How come there is money for new logo and summer party etc. but not for highly qualified people who know the product and company (despite the massive funding last year)? We need people like this in the current situation.

Try to rebuild trust with your employees, otherwise many might leave soon, especially the good ones. Be much more transparent and trustworthy.
Best way to get ahead and avoid getting fired is to become friends with the long-timers, it seems. Quite some nepotism on the higher ranks. This needs to change.

After firing nearly 10% of the workforce in June, the atmosphere sucks. The summer party was super awkward. People pretending to have fun, while wondering who will get kicked out next.

Management failed to explain sufficiently why we are getting rid of of so many trusted colleagues. Totally unclear, badly communicated.

Dear colleague,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback. We want you to know that we take your input seriously and are constantly trying to improve. Below, we would like to address some of the points you raised.

Ensuring there is no favouritism and giving every employee the opportunity to further grow and develop is very important to us. For this reason, we have clearly defined processes and guidelines regarding promotions and salaries that are accessible to all employees and from which nobody is excluded. In addition, colleagues with people management responsibility at Holidu receive special in-depth training through regular sessions in our leadership academy.

Indeed, we recently slimmed down our workforce by 7% in selected teams. This was an incredibly difficult decision and we recognize the impact of it. The communication was prepared thoroughly and done in a personal way. Our founders spoke to every employee involved personally, and the rest of the company was informed on the same day. There have been several company-wide as well as department-specific follow-up meetings in order to clarify the reasons and answer any questions that came up.

We are glad to hear that in general you enjoy working with your colleagues and find team cohesion to be good at Holidu! This is really important to us which is why also this year we decided to have our annual summer party. A recent internal survey showed that the summer party was very positively received amongst employees and that they found it to be very fun and enjoyable. We are sorry to hear your experience was a different one.

In general, we have grown substantially every single year in the past and are looking to the future with great optimism, excited for what’s to come.
