Sometimes the leaders should take a step back and think about how something might feel for others. Sounds bad, but I'm not complaining. I'm suggesting.. :) We are in a company where everybody is working hard to make it a success. Therefor it is sometimes simply best to take deep breath and not let this stress influence the way how to communicate.

Kommunikation
Most of the important infos will be provided in a company meeting which happens every other week. Sometimes it happens that you actually need to pull important infos, but this is ok I guess.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Sometimes ppl are "in their own world" but attention is always just one slap on the shoulder away ;) Just joking, as long as you know what you are talking about, ppl listen and let you speak. Sometimes you have to remind one that not everyone is an expert in their specific field :-)
Work-Life-Balance
I'm not telling lies if I say it's a lot of work. This is not the typical 9-5 job. As we are still a relatively small company, it's a "hands on" mentality. We are all set up to work from anywhere which is good on the one hand (home office and stuff) but can be quite challenging when you don't have the discipline to put down your phone after work. The Instana team is widely spread over the planet, therefor there's always activity going on and one could easily fall into the trap of being active all the time. But this is your own decision, nobody is forcing you to do so :)
Vorgesetztenverhalten
They are cool most of the time. Sometimes a discussion can be quite challenging as most leaders are very technical and know exactly what you are talking about. I guess this is more or less a good and a bad thing the same time. Sometimes I wish one would step back a little and try to understand why someone is doing something instead of questioning it..
But all of this is just high level blabla. As soon as you understand how some ppl "work", you get used to it.

The tasks you are working on changes every now and then which makes it a great place for learning new stuff.
Gleichberechtigung
Skin color, male, female, old, young... screw this, as long as they are good in what they do.
Arbeitsbedingungen
Homeoffice, Laptops which you can use for private things as well, Mobile phones... Instana is trying to make it as comfortable as possible.

4 Stars as I'm learning new stuff every other day. One star less as we as developers are currently not free to visit conferences which I enjoyed at my previous employer. This is simply because we are still a startup and want to keep our money together.
