They treat teachers like objects rather than human beings.
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
The lessons were great.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Everything about the company and how they treated teachers.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Please treat your teachers better.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
There is a depressing atmosphere in the school due to low pay, lack of support, and being treated like an object rather than a human being.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Sometimes workshops are offered where you can work on materials alongside other teachers.
Work-Life-Balance
Rather than giving you 4 lessons in one place, they will give you 4 lessons in completely different areas in order for you to gain "travel" hours as well as teaching hours. This means you could be out of the house for 12+ hours but only actually teaching for 6 hours. Oh, and you won't be allowed a break. Unless of course you're ill, in which case they will begrudgingly give you one.
They do not care if you have to leave extremely early in the morning or travel back very late at night in the middle of absolutely nowhere when it's pitch black.
You are forced to do training sessions on Fridays at 4pm.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Mircromanagement, invasion of privacy (I was ill & needed regular medical appointments and asked to disclose what was wrong with me), lack of support, only given negative feedback, positive feedback turned around and made negative.. I could go on..
Interessante Aufgaben
The students were all very nice and classes were great.
Gleichberechtigung
A male colleague with the exact same experience and qualifications as me was given a raise, but I was not. I had received a lot of positive feedback and worked extremely hard to give good lessons so was very, very disappointed and unmotivated after this.
Arbeitsbedingungen
Borderline illegal. No proper breaks (train journeys between lessons do NOT count), extremely low pay (you can get more working at McDonalds), and minimum holiday allowance. No raises. Older colleagues have slightly better conditions in their contracts.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Pay your teachers a proper wage.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
I often asked for more responsibilities but was never given any.
