To HR: Provide a workable interface between staff and senior management. Your job is not to be management's mouthpiece, but to provide a mediatory role in times of negotiation and conflict.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
The working atmosphere is generally positive with nice staff who show each other respect.
However, some staff work incredibly hard while others are allowed to do the bare minimum, which can lead to a level of resentment among staff.
Kommunikation
In my team, it has been the case of meetings for the sake of meetings. Some leads are great communicators that stay on point, others tend to digress and ramble due to their lack of experience.
Since Covid, short company meetings have been taking place over Meet every couple of weeks. The information communicated is generally of little interest, but this is a vast improvement on how the founders kept their staff informed.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
In my team, there was good camaraderie. However, there can sometimes be misunderstandings between individual teams. There is a high level of staff rotation.
Work-Life-Balance
Media Partisans is good for people with families. Flexible hours mean parents can come into work early to leave on time to pick up their children.
The job allows you to switch off in your free time.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Unfortunately, this is where the company finds itself lacking.
After the company's founders left in 2018, there has been a level of inexperience on show at the top.
During my time, verbal agreements haven't been kept. Requests for improved contractual conditions have also been met with hostility.
Senior management's general conduct at times has led to a number of hard working and highly skilled employees moving on. This will hurt the company long-term.
Interessante Aufgaben
It varies from team to team. For me, there are a lot of interesting tasks to do. In some teams, the work is tedious.
If you're motivated, you have the opportunity to develop various skills. It is all on you though, as no professional training will be provided.
Gleichberechtigung
From my experience, women have the same opportunities as men when it comes to promotion prospects. Many of the middle management positions are held by female staff.
The company has sometimes been a little tone deaf with people who do not identify as male or female, i.e. some job advertisements did not include "divers".
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
The staff at Media Partisans are in the main young. More senior employees seem to be treated the same as everyone else.
Arbeitsbedingungen
During Covid, many employees have been working from home. The company transported work computers to people's homes when necessary.
At the office, the equipment and rooms are generally good. The studios are also well equipped.
After relocating from the center of Potsdam, the only negative here is the office location. Unless you have a car or live locally, the connections are poor. The commute is an annoyance for many members of staff based in Berlin.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
I don't think this is high on the company's agenda. There is a lot of food waste and the building doesn't appear to be particularly environmentally friendly.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Wages are what you can expect for this line of work (adequate). There is little to no increase in salary in real terms unless you move into a team lead role.
Bonuses or wage increases are non-negotiable, regardless of performance. Unfortunately, this can lead to a general lack of motivation among some staff.
There is a company pension scheme, but I would highly recommend consulting a financial advisor before signing up.

The company's image online has really improved over the last few years. Previously, Media Partisans was only known for creating clickbait articles with questionable ethics, giving the company a poor reputation.
In the meantime, the quality of content has gone up with a more positive approach. Video has also taken off and covers topics such as recipes, DIY and stories, improving the company's overall image.
On the social media pages, the general presentation remains confused with food, DIY, news content posted. It would be better to keep everything to its own channel.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Staff can move onto a team lead/middle management role if they stick around long enough. This leads to mixed results in terms of performance at this level.
Professional training is non-existent. Staff are asked to provide workshops for one another, which again leads to mixed results. You need to be motivated to train yourself off your own back with no support from management.
