Arbeitsatmosphäre
In general, colleagues in the Berlin office were quite nice and supportive, deserving a 4-star rating. However, project managers in the Berlin branch have limited decision-making power, as most decisions are made in Rotterdam. Unfortunately, Rotterdam is often unaware of project processes and communication styles in Germany, which leads to poor decision-making. This leaves Berlin with tight hands and little time/space to organize work, resulting in tension and overall stress that could have been avoided.
Kommunikation
Within the Berlin office: 3 stars. Communication with Rotterdam: 1 star.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Within the Berlin office: 3 stars - generally supportive environment, especially for newcomers.
Rotterdam: 1 star - extremely competitive and toxic.
Work-Life-Balance
Many long working hours and frequent submissions. It is quite common for employees to be engaged in multiple projects simultaneously.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
The senior architects in the Berlin office are very respectful and patient, deserving a 4-star rating. However, they have limited decision-making power and are fully dependent on the Rotterdam office. In contrast, seniors from Rotterdam often engage in micromanagement and frequently cross professional boundaries, warranting a rating of just 1 star.
Gleichberechtigung
The most positive aspect of working for MVRDV is the office's promotion of diversity. People from all around the world, with different backgrounds, ages, and social groups, work for MVRDV, and everyone is equally respected.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
There are no older colleagues, the average age is 32
Arbeitsbedingungen
The Berlin office did not have enough chairs in the first two years. Colleagues had to coordinate the chairs among themselves, planning which days to come to the office to share the available chairs and keyboards.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
LOW
Karriere/Weiterbildung
There are limited opportunities to expand knowledge. The only option is to take a peer "course" from an experienced colleague in Rotterdam, mostly focused on BIM topics. However, these colleagues are often overwhelmed with work, making it difficult to find additional time for teaching. As a result, these training video calls are frequently postponed.
