Disappointing Experience at Payhawk

After working at Payhawk for 2 years, I must say that my overall experience was far from positive. The company failed to fulfill the expectations it set in terms of shares, which was a major disappointment.
One of the main reasons why the German office didn't grow in terms of employees is attributed to the former Commercial Director, who was ego-driven and lacked essential people skills. Consequently, the company seems to only attract similar types of employees, which negatively impacts the overall work environment.
The product itself is challenging to sell, especially in a highly competitive market like Germany. Not only is it feature-wise more of a niche product, but it is also the most expensive option available. The absence of basic features necessary for success on the German market, such as a DATEV partnership or German IBAN, further hindered its potential.
Additionally, I experienced a lack of collegiality within the team, as deals were taken away from me during my vacation. This level of disregard for my absence was disheartening and reflects poorly on the company's culture.
Furthermore, the bonus structure underwent changes over the past 2 years, and unfortunately, these changes were not for the better. On the other hand, the base salary was satisfactory, which was essential considering the high cost of living in Berlin-Mitte.
It's important to note that the office itself is quite nice, located in the heart of Berlin-Mitte. The company also organizes team events, which were enjoyable experiences. However, when considering the overall experience, I would rate Payhawk a 2 out of 10. WFH Policy also far behind standards since only allowed once a week.
If you are contemplating working at Payhawk, I wish you the best of luck, but I would caution you to thoroughly consider the drawbacks mentioned in this review

For 1 1/2 years there is no one leading the Payhawk GmbH, which is basically because former CD now working as a regular AE seems to have some ego issues.
