Very open, energetic and integrating culture. Great Onboarding.
Flexible work. I can't flex this enough, this is really good. Never in my life i had more flexible work times and locations. Compensation for work also is great.
Like mentioned above the communication of new opportunities from c level to the rest could and should be improved.
More involvement of architects/engineers into leads would be nice. Better project management so deadlines are more relaxed would also be a nice benefit.
I work fully remote and can't make it otherwise. This is accepted and due to the full flex nature of the company i can work whenever i want. The only required meetings are once a week so one can plan them accordingly.
I haven't heard much bad from customers or others when it comes to REWE or paymenttools in general. I would say this is a solid image and i'm proud to say that i work here.
I would rate this 12/10. Due to my personal situation i need lots of ad-hoc time for dealing with it. This was never easier than in this company. I work fully remote with no core working time. There is no work time tracking. If you get your stuff done nobody will ask you when and how you have done it
Most of the decisions we take as a company (currently) don't have a special environmental aspect in them
If you want you can get education as long as it's profitable for the company. You can take all sorts of online courses (be it code warrior, online certs from AWS/GCP/Azure etc.). It's also possible to get trainers for learning. There are also workshops from time to time to exchange knowledge gained with others (also across companies in the REWE group)
In engineering where i work we have good collaboration on problems. We discover improvements and implement them together. Never had a problem with finding someone to bounce ideas off and getting proper feedback on ideas (may they be bad or good).
We have younger and older colleagues and never had a problem with it. It feels that everyone can talk to anyone without any fear and borders. This is very refreshing since there is no set "mindset" in most people.
This is a downside of this company i feel. C Level is heavily disconnected from the daily operations and projects. They are more focused on getting deals closed and don't involve the company beforehand. This leads to "pop-up" projects which have deadlines which are not exactly easy to hold. Involving the company earlier into those processes of closing new deals would improve this situation a ton.
Like i said above full flex on working hours / location. You get a macbook and can use it for everything you need (i also use it for private stuff from time to time). I also use the Jobrad heavily and the other discounts the company offers due to it being part of REWE group
Communication is a bit hard sometimes. Many leads are "hidden by default" due to c level needing to sign strict NDAs with the involved party. This for my feeling could improve since we all have a NDA with the company which should hold for such kind of situations (excluding the externals maybe)?
The salary is good industry standard. You on yourself are responsible for dealing new conditions though. This is a plus for me since i don't like "general" union style contracts where someone else defines your worth of work. For socials this is regulated, you get german insurances and rent plans.
Since this is a highly regulated environment it's fun to deal with that kind of challenges. Also the amount of volume we need to move is nice to have and the amount of detail this requires is something i like.
In my opinion, there is no appreciation on management level. The tone is very often harsh. No fun at work anymore really.
I have the feeling it's getting worse
flexible working hours and remote is posisble
The last seven more negative reviews were deleted.
Due to the culture, colleagues are afraid of making mistakes
Really depends on your position, Departement, and self-discipline
No actions are taken or supported
Most of the time that is really really good. And most colleagues are really talented and really fun to work with.
No empowerment, encouragement and lack of trust
Lack of transparent communication. Information are keep are often kept in an inner circle and only shared from time to time. This has an impact of efficiency of the product development.
I heard that lots of women feel treated unfairly
Young and energetic
Staying focused in delivering values to customers, at the same time taking care of employees.
Well, i have never experienced a bad day or vibes. I was hoping to move to the new hall office, but now we are looking for anything else.
i have the maximum flexibility in working hours, and taking care of private manners
nothing to add
is improving, new manager are joining and have time to take care of their teams.
never had such a great hardware from apple, wow thank you
welcome Asana, this brings a lot of transparency
Openness to innovation and change, flexibility, responsible and interesting tasks
Expand the management level to create more structures, stronger employer brand
The atmosphere among colleagues is relaxed, everyone is very helpful, and you can quickly get into contact with people outside your own team.
We are a cool company, but unfortunately still somewhat inconspicuous to the outside world.
Thanks to flexible working hours, you get a good handle on your work-life balance.
The team spirit among colleagues is great!
You are provided with very modern IT equipment, but the office space could be made even more attractive.
Communication within the company is very transparent and open, even if it doesn't always work perfectly. Feedback is welcome and appreciated.
Due to the size and age of the company, the decision-making paths are still very short and the room for initiative is very large. Ideas can be introduced and directly implemented without having to turn around several loops. I enjoy that very much!
Hybrid work, modern tech stack, motivated colleagues and interesting topics.
My advice would be to hire more product experts with payment know how. The tech expertise in the company is really good. But we are really lacking payment industry experts to drive the product vision.
Nice colleagues, interesting tasks, 2 week sprints.
Backed by the REWE group, but the visibility in the payment bubble needs to be enhanced.
I can't complain, it gets stressful here and there but we want to get things done, right?
There is a budget per person, but you need to ask for it, totally fine in my opinion.
It's a matter of negotiation. I am happy with my salary.
I think things like an extra vacation pay, christmas money or VWL would be something people would really appreciate.
I can't tell.
Great colleagues, we are trying to do team buildings whenever it is possible, we also have quarterly company events and nice possibilities for hackathons in the broader rewe group.
The average age is relatively young, but we also have some older colleagues which are totally included and respected for there knowledge.
My line manager is really kind and always has an open ear for every topic I have. He encourages me to involve myself and has the right portion of being pushy to leave my comfort zone. Thumbs up.
You get top notch hardware, all licenses you need and the overall toolstack is modern and cloud native.
Indeed a great environment to work with state of the art technology.
Okayish..
Great topics, interesting industry.
cool product, cool tech stack, good tool landscape overall, smart and driven folks, lot of space to bring ideas and have an impact
communication top-down can be improved, stronger employer brand, more efficiency when it comes to decision-making
have all the things I need to be able to do my job, as I am mostly remote, having 2 kids, I do not have always the "right" environment - my "problem"
really cool company in terms what it is doing, product-wise, very innovative, but we do have quite some to do's when it comes to strengthening the brand and "marketing" ourselves better
having 2 kids can be often a "far stretch", but paymenttools provides flexibility to manage my time accordingly
did not get much involved in this, but sustainability is an important topic
employee education budget and you get what you ask for, if you ask for it
really cool people, very friendly
noticed we have several colleagues who are over 2 decades in the company and they are very much appreciated and recognized which is cool
the CW office is really cool and big, Berlin office is really nice as well thus cant complain - can come anytime I wants. We are in a change phase thus we have couple of building blocks to tackle, but interesting tasks
as we are in a change phase we are improving how we convey ideas & updates, but sometimes its not that straight-forward top-down, but that is everywhere
salary-wise I do think we are offering market standard, but we do miss some other incentives and perks - which will come by time
So verdient kununu Geld.
