Great colleagues, company strategy regularly chaning, regular lay offs.
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Flexibility to have a doctors appointment during normal working hours, hybrid working model.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
More attractive salary ranges. Improvement around employee / management development needed. No real development of key contributors/motivated individuals.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Shark Tank, every x years there is a RIF (reduction in force). One year you work on a strategic growth product, next year this product is no longer strategic and people made redundant or moved elsewhere. Then there are the regular reorganizations to keep ourselves busy. Moreover, there are some managers just seem to wait for their retirement. On a positive note there is a lot of freedom and less red tape than with other companies I worked for.
Kommunikation
Improved communication via segment / leadership calls, but with a high workload it is impossible to watch them all or follow all internal channels. Navigating the intranet has always been a challenge despite so many projects.
What is often missing is what happened with all the initiatives started in a year, quite a few seem to be silently burried. Having some deeper project insights with all the remaining issues around a customer and hearing how successful everything is, confirms that only good news are cascaded up in the management.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Pretty good, this is one of the highlights when working at PTC, that we all help each other. Some colleagues unfortunately spend 1+ hour arguing what they cannot do for a customer / partner instead of simply spending 15min of their time, when everyone else feels/sees this being a topic they own. Relevant managers usually also not helpful and always pushing back. US colleagues very US focused, this includes inviting to calls when Europe is past their working hours.
Work-Life-Balance
Non existant because of tight timelines, lack of resources in most teams. Everyone does extra work because we like our customers & colleagues.
Summer Friday's off (starting at lunchtime) is a good idea, but this is reguarly ignored by US colleagues and EU management is also not really supporting this initiative in our area.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Usually, little or no feedback during performance reviews. No willingness to address the elephant in the room. Towards upper management only "good news" are reported in fear being called a distractor or not seen as a team player. Some lead only with pressure and pushing unrealistic workloads onto their team members.
Interessante Aufgaben
The portfolio is interesting but the key market is PLM/CAD, moving between teams is very difficult, thus you are usually stuck within an area.
Gleichberechtigung
Theoretically yes, in practice no. Basically no women in leadership positions, those who had been there all left. Very often women are still very much underpaid with little or no corrective action from management.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
Quite a few colleagues were pushed out in the last couple of years but overall especially upper management has been a bunch of old white men.
Arbeitsbedingungen
Work environment significantly improved with new offices like Munich, Stuttgart, Barcelona.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
Jobrad offer is excellent, rest is more an "Alibi" Veranstaltung.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Often unrealistic ranges. Micro merit adjustments. Once one gains some insights one can see big salary differences for the same role.
Image
ok'ish. But outside world usually has never heard of PTC.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Non existent. Weiterbildung = Linkedin training and that's it.
