Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

The only mentionable good thing I can say about Ratepay is the flexibility I was facing to align my working time with my private life throughout the entire time I was working here

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

The absence of appreciation agains the employees and that those are not treated as individuals but as positions that just need to be filled - especially within the IT department. This also is well reflected by the poor communication one can expect from the company's current management - highlight things working well to self-celebrate one, but try to keep silence about mistakes being made.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Throughout the past few month - especially after the latest management changes - the overall working athmosphere is decreasing bit by bit. When talking to colleagues, the overall motiviation as well as the will to stay seems to get lower and lower. One big factor is definitely that one is only seen as an arbitrary employer and not as a valueable individual; e.g. even when sharing one's current dissatisfaction and raising the idea to leave towards the managers, those are just taking note of it to look for a replacement, without showing any noticeable ambitions to keep those employees. Being with the company for years and having knowledge and experiece seems not to be of any worth at Ratepay.

Kommunikation

Ratepay is having a monthly company-wide All-Hands (or Townhall meeting) to share latest news, numbers and development with everybody and also is having a quarterly OKR read-out session, to share progress in currently facing goals. But those are more meant to share changes and success storys - when things doesn't go well and mistakes happen, one quite quickly gets the feeling that the management is trying to keep those information shut and leave it to the "office gossip", without any noticeable intention of explanations or statements or even apology's if things in their responsiblity go wrong

Kollegenzusammenhalt

I always loved working with the different teams I was pat of throughout my time at Ratepay, because the teams always really worked and acted as a team should, with a common goal and expectation towards the results to come up with in mind. But one also needs to say, that when leaving the team boundaries and especially the department boundaries, things and mindsets quickly seem to be different and communication often gets tricky

Work-Life-Balance

I always had the feeling of getting enough flexibility to arrange my working time with my private life the way I needed!
However, this unfortunately seems to become a bit harder in the future due to latest company policy changes like mandatory office days and a reduction of days one can take to work from abroad

Vorgesetztenverhalten

I can just say that the way the management at Ratepay currently acts and how they treat their employees is for me the main reason to leave the company.

Interessante Aufgaben

I was facing interesting and challenging tasks that offered me the opportunity to grow and extend my knowledge most of the time, including the freedom to have impact on how to do things. But also in this field throughout the past few month Ratepay slowly changes in a way that decisions are made "top-to-bottom", with the management and a few "wanna-be-experts" making overall decisions, without even consulting those colleagues who are experts in their field, know the environment and also will be the one to realize things. So again a clear trend of expertise and knowledge is becoming less valueable at Ratepay.

Open-Plan-Office, Good reachable via public-transport (but very limited car parking spots), Choices Between Mac-Books and Windows Machines (Linux is banned meanwhile)

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Ratepay once had really remarkable efforts for becoming a sustainable and fair employer, but these times are gone

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

The salary one can expect is avareage and might be okay when joining the company, but there is no will to reward loyalty; so always expect that new joiners with less (insight) experience will receive a higher salary for fullfilling the same job-role

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Ratepay is currently not investing into training and development of it's employees, the only chance one gets is "training on the job". Also career opportunities are quite low at the moment
