You should avoid that company, unless you are ready to suffer the consequences of the fact that rules which apply when you are looking for a roommate or sexual partner will also be applied to you in a workplace.
Lat meeting was presented to me by HR representative in an invitation email as: "virtual coffee". There was no agenda. It was presented as something other than it was in fact.
People involved indeed treated it as a social meeting. First 10 minutes I was an observer, and people were chatting with each other. HR representative that organised that appeared in the whole recruitment process only on that last meeting. Was absent on meetings before. Next day I was rejected and got a feedback that was: 1. "He has extremely poor communication skills" 2. "He is paranoid". I do not have any mental issues, nor has anyone ever complained about it. The reality management created in Solvemate is closer to religious sect with a very strong ingroup bias, where people are lured with the promise of something special, but at the end are treated as garbage. This is how it felt to me anyway.
Candidate experience would be better if...
*HR wasn't overworked. Please don't ignore questions and always confirm that emails are received.
*All steps should be explained in detail in the first talk with HR so candidates can choose if they wanna continue. It seems like more steps are randomly added and the communication between teams doesn't always seem so good. It's hard for a candidate to prepare.
*For a company with a mission to save time, Solvemate should value the candidate's time more. Trim the process. Save people's time here too.
*It's not OK to ask for free labour. I'm sure the company has no intention to steal ideas, but it's not possible to just delete inspiration from the brain. Solvemate should allocate budget to show respect for applicants. Even if symbolic. People have children, jobs, other responsibilities. Investing time into a long process means investing money from a candidate's side.
*Train your team to give helpful feedback that could help candidates grow.
