Personally, I would love to see more social events or day trips than in previous Corona months.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

At the time of writing, working at STTech mainly takes place in the home office, but also at customer appointments or other locations, for example when testing prototypes. For me, the working atmosphere in the home office could be summarized as lots of independent work on the one hand and telephone calls or video conferences with colleagues and customers on the other. In general, I have absolutely nothing to complain about here as the atmosphere in the team is pleasant, you feel supported and never really alone. The Management also lets you know when your work was good.
We also often program in small groups and develop solutions together. The atmosphere at customer demos or during a development in the previous office with the colleagues is of course completely different and is full of new experiences that break through the daily routine and remain positively in memory, for example, spontaneously giving a presentation for the first time, seeing one's own prototype working in real life and much more. Only people who can just work in an office and not remotely might not be happy with this at the moment.

Kommunikation

In total, I would describe communication as very good. There is always nice, friendly and open communication among colleagues, as well as with customers and the managment. Requests can be made directly and openly to the management, so the hierarchy is very flat and there is no unnecessary slow process to bring one's own needs or criticisms to the table.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

In my opinion, one of the best things about this company is the cohesion among colleagues. Even if you rarely see each other in person due to the pandemic for example, you feel that the colleagues all stick together. In my experience so far, I have never seen any internal teasing or exclusion among colleagues. Loyalty is very high here. You can also rely on colleagues when you are on vacation or need help with difficult tasks. Since the entire team is rather young, you also notice at social events that you can connect well on many topics other than work.

Work-Life-Balance

The point that probably polarizes the most in startups is the work-life balance. And also here, it can't be summarized in one sentence. STTech is a startup with big ambitions and a drive to develop state-of-the-art technologies that improve our everyday life in different ways. And of course, complex projects might lead to some demanding and longer weeks. Especially when deadlines are tight or full team power is required to push a prototype quickly. But I think that's normal, and you can't expect anything else from an ambitious hightech startup. However, in my experience, in by far the most weeks of the year, an absolutely normal workload is sufficient to successfully complete the tasks. Time management and planning has also become better and better and leads to a clear gain of more free time after work. Taking vacations has also never been an issue for me and was always accepted. On average, I can currently rate the work-life balance as good to very good.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

In my experience, the relationship with the management is very good. I feel that the personal opinion and estimations are taken serious by the management also for making project decisions. Of course, there can be disagreements and discussions over time, but so far they have always been resolved in a factual and friendly manner. Personally, I also very much appreciate the openness of the management. Even for private matters, he always has an open ear and good advice. I don't think you'll find anything like that in any classic company, and it might be very rare even among startups.

Interessante Aufgaben

The tasks are mostly definitely exciting, state-of-the-art and research-oriented. And if you are willing to step out of your comfort zone once in a while and leave your current area of responsibility to temporarily support other teams, this is the right place for you.

Gleichberechtigung

We are an international team of women and men from several nations. Among colleagues, everyone has equal rights. Project leaders understandably bear more responsibility and decision-making power, but they have an absolutely collegial relationship with the rest of the colleagues. So in principle, everyone can bring their wishes and opinions through.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Most colleagues are pretty much the same age, so there's nothing really to say here.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

The salary is definitely good according to a startup.
