Arbeitsatmosphäre

I worked mainly with humble people, that help each other and try to grow together as a team. Trust plays an important role in the company culture.

The open, non-hierarchical working culture is not a fit for everyone, though. Structural changes, for example in specific departments or even the whole company happen on a regular basis. You will need to be able to adapt to this.

Kommunikation

Keeping an overview of all the available information from all different departments is probably very hard for newcomers at the beginning.

People who work in the company for longer should usually help to aggregate all the information to their teams and channel the important information from the noise. But that is not working all the time.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

The thing I miss the most, are the amazing colleagues I was able to work with. Regular team and company events, but also the casual kicker or table tennis game, or after-work-drink, helped to build trust. I met some really good friends over the years.

Work-Life-Balance

I really appreciated the flexible working hours, and the hybrid working model also is a good compromise in my point of view. The company even gave everyone a week of for the year during the corona times and also there were some additional christmas holidays everyone got on top.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

My responsibility leads were always honest and helped me to grow in my roles.
But that really depends on a case by case basis.

The C-level team trys to keep the company up-to-date regulary about changes in general but also changes in the market and communicates transparantly. Not everything is perfect, but the effort is high.

Interessante Aufgaben

There are some bureaucratic tasks that come with higher responsibility. But the interesting work is still exceeding.

Often you are faced with problems, that at the beginning you probably don't know the solution for and then you have to find your way step by step.

In general diversity and gender equality are promoted.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Age doesn't play such a big role. In general it is about 30. New colleagues were mostly around that age range.

Arbeitsbedingungen

The Campus is amazing with ergonomic chairs and electrical desks that you can move up and down. There is also a Gym in the office. The equipment is quite modern. Got a Macbook Pro and also Bose headphones with noice cancelling.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

I think there could be more innovation in that area in the product itself.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Probably not so high at the beginning, but it can grow quite a bit if you stay a few years. Also stock options are awared if you get good yearly reviews from your colleagues.

Changes in the market and then the Corona crisis were some big challenges in the recent years that also caused some leaves of more experienced staff. The massive growth from the beginning is over.

But the company culture is still great. If you like a more openminded, non-hierarchical environment where not everything is perfect and you have to take initiative, then there is a good chance that you can thrive at trivago.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

There are lot of options to learn. Mostly you get hands-on experience (Learning by doing) and knowledgesharing from your colleagues. But also online courses like Linkedin courses or similar are offered.
