My overall impression of the company is that it combines the worst aspects of not being a startup with the worst aspects of a startup: everything is extremely slow, resistant to innovation, and yet there is constant pressure, frequent layoffs, and instability. The only positive aspect of the corporate culture I experienced was the parties.

Hiring Process:
From the hiring manager’s side, it was unclear what my exact responsibilities would be, and the job description differed slightly from the actual role. The case study was vague too. To my knowledge, my position wasn’t filled afterwards, which, in a way, contributes to my point above. For the expectations they had, the compensation seemed below market — especially considering they frequently emphasized they were not a startup anymore.

Onboarding+Team:
From day one, there was immense pressure. The environment felt as unstable as a startup, with constant changes that left employees scared of layoffs. While team members were polite and generally nice, the atmosphere was quite distant.

Management:
In my view, my direct manager was underqualified for a leadership position. He lacked social skills, micromanaged, and cultivated a culture of overwork. I also found him unsympathetic to personal issues. As far as I can remember, he has never requested any feedback about his leadership, didn’t set clear goals, wasn’t transparent about my future in the company. Overall, his management style caused me significant mental distress and anxiety, which negatively impacted my health, performance, and motivation. This was especially difficult as I had recently relocated for the role. Despite providing feedback, he only seemed to focus on negatives and didn’t really allow me opportunities to improve. While I don’t think he is a bad person and/or employee per se, I feel he is ill-suited to manage people effectively.

Corporate Culture:
I had no support from, nor did I ever meet, my HR Business Partner. For a company that claims to value its corporate culture, this was surprising. Processes lacked transparency from the very beginning, leaving me unclear about what to expect.

Termination:
There was no exit interview, feedback (from my side), or recommendations from HR. The company promised to assist me with visa-related matters but never responded. My contract was terminated abruptly, and I was required to return company equipment the same day. I’ve seen other employees treated the same way. While no termination is pleasant, I felt this process was disrespectful and dismissive, especially given my relocation for the role.

Summary:
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. However, experiences may vary between teams.
