Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

The colleagues and the fact that you can learn a lot by actively working on projects even as a very junior employee. The fact that working from home, even for longer periods, is accepted is a nice plus as well.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Base salary, bonuses, raises, career opportunities, learning opportunities, the staffing process, the often intransparent communication, the pressure for a high level of billable hours, the promotion process.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

I cannot stress this enough: find a way to improve compensation. Especially more junior consultants are not paid very well and can nowadays quickly see that direct competitors or even companies in other industries are willing to pay them more, sometimes much more.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Depends on the department, I personally had a good time working with my team.

Kommunikation

Lots of improvement potential for communication coming from the executive level or from the headquarters. Same story for communication between departments. Communication within departments is mostly fine.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Easily the best thing about working at Capgemini were my colleagues.

Work-Life-Balance

Strongly dependent on the project you’re staffed on and the extra things you’re doing (preparing pitches, doing internal projects, recruiting events etc.). Overall probably on par with other companies.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Direct bosses were mostly great and supportive, more senior people‘s actions/decisions were sometimes hard to understand.

Interessante Aufgaben

Tasks can range from the coolest things ever to mundane and demotivating. The pressure to be staffed was high, and whether consultants enjoyed (or even were a good fit for) their projects was mostly a secondary consideration. Their were some decent internal projects to participate in though (if you had time for that next to being fully staffed on client projects).

Gleichberechtigung

Seemed fine at least in my department.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

There aren't many older colleagues. From what I have heard and seen, they don’t always seem to get treated well though.

Arbeitsbedingungen

The office is fairly nice and well situated, but the technical equipment is not. The money provided to new hires to get their own phones is not nearly enough to get a good work phone without paying at least part of it yourself. Some laptops consultants use are outdated and have issues with basic functionalities (stable connection, battery capacity, screensharing on calls, …). The meeting rooms are mostly ok.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

There are some internal initiatives like, but ultimately nothing that really makes a big impact.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Absolutely below average.
Base salaries are not good, at least on the lower levels of the hierarchy.
Raises and bonuses are so tiny that they are almost insignificant, if you even manage to get them. Some benefits are nice to have, but are not nearly as good as what competitors offer. Overall, compensation is definitely not helping any talent retention efforts.

The brand Capgemini may carry weight in France or Germany, but not in Austria unfortunately.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Depends on your role. There are decent career paths for consultants specialized in certain areas. If you don’t specialize in one of these areas, getting ahead in your career seems basically impossible.
There are opportunities for upskilling like e-learnings or seminars and educational leaves are being supported, but not much more beyond that. Seeing as many other companies offer much more in this department, an upgrade may help with talent development.
