Sacher is THE hotel in Vienna. Great name, great benefits and a fun team. Not stuffy and 'posh' as I thought it would be

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
One rule for one team, another for another.
For example; some people on my floor can do home office when they want/need to which is excellent and as it should be in 2024 but I heard from another department, on my floor, that home office is never allowed.
This is unfair and creates tension, division and jealously.
This needs to be cleared up.

Hire the right people and the very upper management should be keeping a closer eye on their heads.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Everyone is super friendly with one another all the time; at lunch, in the hallways, outside in the smoking area. Everyone takes time to genuinely chat and care about their colleagues from any and all depaertments.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
They take it seriously but it's just for show like most companies - but they do take it seriously nonetheless.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
You can move around the Hotel and up if you want to for sure.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Hotelerie is tough, the team is in it together.
Arbeitsbedingungen
Could be way better for the back-of-house team but they're modernising.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Hotels have never been the best-paying places. However, I've heard some of my colleagues mention their salaries and they should be being paid more. These are colleagues who directly bring money into the business through their work or and if they would be working in other companies, would be paid 30% - 50% more.
If Sacher wants the best people in their back office, they have to loosen the purse strings. Pay cheap and you'll pay twice.
Interessante Aufgaben
You never know what is coming next and this can be stressful for some, but no one ever said running a five-star luxury hotel such as the Sacher is easy. Flexibility is KEY. Don't take it too seriously and you'll have fun. Roll with the punches.
