Unfair work environment, professional growth and recognition appear to hinge more on knowing the right people only
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
I had a highly disappointing experience working at UBS Bank, particularly within the financial crime division - GCRG. The pay was abysmal, and it was evident that line managers lacked essential social skills. The practice of promoting individuals (by high ranking individuals) from AO to MD positions within 6-7 years, regardless of educational background (high school only), is concerning. Additionally, the arbitrary reduction of bonuses by around 70% when transitioning between divisions, such as from IB to GF, reflects a blatant lack of fairness. It appears that personal connections with high ranking individuals determine career advancement more than actual merit.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
The whistleblowing line, promotions, and employee bonuses at FCP in GCRG seem to be driven by political factors, heavily reliant on personal connections with higher-ups. This approach fosters an unfair work environment, where professional growth and recognition appear to hinge more on knowing the right people than on individual merits. This raises concerns about the transparency and equity of UBS's internal processes, leaving employees with a sense of frustration and disillusionment.

Only the necessary political information is being shared.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Individuals who have no experience and are hired as line managers lack social skills. This is the reason for people running away from that team as soon as possible.

Vorgesetztenverhalten
As previously mentioned, individuals who have no experience and are hired as line managers - lack social skills. This is the reason people are running away as soon as possible.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Already for 9 years in UBS and got rise only one time till now with promotion. Changing from one division to another (from IB to GF), the bonus will be reduced automatically by 70%. Just in case you have someone to push you up, you are as safe as a polar bear. This includes salary, bonus, life/work balance, etc.

Working at FCP GCRG proved to be a challenging experience, marked by inadequate management and a stifling work culture. The lack of effective communication and support from superiors created a toxic environment, hindering productivity and morale. Decision-making processes were opaque, leaving employees feeling undervalued and powerless. Moreover, there was a pervasive sense of favoritism, with opportunities for growth seemingly reserved for a select few. The workload was often overwhelming, leading to burnout and a detrimental impact on work-life balance. The absence of a constructive feedback system further exacerbated the issues, making it difficult for employees to voice concerns. Overall, the negative working experience at UBS highlighted organizational shortcomings that significantly affected employee satisfaction and well-being.
