From the beginning, the communication from HR was very weird

Gleichberechtigung

Nothing available in English, onboarding in German even when they know someone does not speak German!! This has been communicated with them many times but they simply do not care. All important documents on their intranet in German...

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

No way to separate trash in the office, no pads/tampons in the bathrooms, no diverse bathrooms, center of focus on German speaking employees, even their diversity meetings are in German!

Dear colleague,
Thank you for your feedback. At Elia Group, the working languages are English, French, German, and Dutch. While certain departments, especially in collaboration with our colleagues in Belgium, primarily communicate in English, German remains the main spoken language in most departments at 50Hertz. Therefore, we require a minimum B2 level of German proficiency. To support our employees, we offer German language courses to enhance the onboarding and daily work experience.
Additionally, we already provide many bilingual formats, including within our onboarding process. We are continuously expanding these initiatives, for example by adding onboarding presentations also in English.
Regarding your concern about waste separation in the office, we would like to clarify that we do have separate bins to ensure proper recycling. We also have gender-neutral restrooms on the 1st, 9th and 12th floor in our NQT main office.
