Generally a nice place to work. But the workload is unmanageable at times. Need to hire more people, but nobody does it
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
The work atmosphere is good. People are supportive.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Hierarchical management structure. Decisions are made at the top, sometimes without even consulting the experts internally which leads to problems and frustrations.
Burn-out is a real possibility
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Start hiring more employees. Stop saving money on team headcount. Career growth plans are a must. Pretending like nothing is wrong about this doesn't help. People need to understand what their future in the company looks like, otherwise they will find another company that offers better conditions and quickly switch
Arbeitsatmosphäre
People are polite and helpful 99% of the time. Rarely any issues with others. There are groups and communities you can join to network.
Kommunikation
Depends on your job position and function. Very hierarchical management structure. You are supposed to deal with mid or line managers for all concerns or projects. Leadership does not get involved. Lots of politics in the background.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Mostly good. People support each other within the teams to manage workload. Competition exists too, especially across teams. Each team is like it's own business unit and needs to deliver well to be rewarded by leadership
Work-Life-Balance
On the surface you have lots of flexibility. Home office is no problem. But the workload is high either all year around or
at times. Burn out may happen oftentimes as the company does not hire more people to support teams. They expect you to be productive and prioritize tasks. A lot of pressure on senior management which trickles down onto others.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Depends on the function or team. Politeness is a must. Very few rude employees at chep. Because of the politics at the top there isn't much clarity, and things can change quickly, if priorities change for the leadership
Interessante Aufgaben
Inefficiencies exists, especially when working on cross-functional projects. Progress is slow and repetition of meetings and tasks are inevitable.
Gleichberechtigung
The potential is there to add more women to leadership. Some effort is put into it by chep. Things move very slowly though
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
People do return to chep for a different position after switching jobs.
Arbeitsbedingungen
Home office available. The office is clean and nice, but small. It gets very crowded during events. Meeting pods available too.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
The business model is completely dedicated to sustainability
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Good, together with the benefits. But not highest in the industry.
Image
Overall, depends on the team and managers. You can either have a great or terrible experience.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Pretty bad. Budgeting limited. Online courses available, but they don't help much. Movement up is limited, if at all possible. Best to switch to other companies when the time and offer is right.
