They have a great work culture with a supportive, professional team and caring, empowering management. It is a true bilingual environment with a very international staff and clientele. Our teachers are committed to our concept and our kids really do learn English through the ‘one person one language’ method. All of our team meetings are in both German and English, so everyone feels comfortable.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
I generally have the feeling everyone is willing to help out and support each other when possible and when we see a coworker in need. Feedback is given when appropriate in gentle manner.
Work-Life-Balance
We only 1 Saturday each year for Sommerfest. We have a big-team meeting once a month for 1.5 hours. Lots of vacation days! Very, very rarely contacted regarding work outside of work hours.

Only have good things to say about our house leaders and the founders. They are so knowledgable, supportive and empowering.
Interessante Aufgaben
Lots of opportunity for creativity and taking responsibility for projects and activities that we have special interests in, not only with the kids in the classroom but also in the “behind the scenes” of the Kita. For example, helping with the social media pages, planning team outings, or presenting topics of interest at parent evenings

Karriere/Weiterbildung
We have a lot of opportunities for professional growth. Teachers can attend seminars (fortbildung), and afterwards, they present their learnings in team meetings to further the education of the rest of the team. Unfortunately, there aren’t currently a lot of English Fortbildung prospects, so English teachers without good German skills don’t really attend the Fortbildungs to the same extent. We are however supported in getting our B1. We are also currently working on cultivating a feedback culture through feedback rounds in our team meetings, as well as internal and external supervisions. As well, new teachers undergo a mentoring program at the beginning of their employment which lasts 4+ months, consisting of weekly meetings with the Hausleitung to go over the concept and house procedures, and to discuss any pedagogical questions and concerns. I think these things makes Cocon a great place for teachers who are continually looking to refine their teaching abilities.
I know there are opportunities for growth within the company, as I watched one of my teammates be promoted to a group leader this year!
