Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

A glimmer of hope lies in the company's efforts to leverage AI, which could potentially drive innovation and efficiency.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Traditional management approaches that cling to centralization in an increasingly decentralized world are also concerning.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

It's disappointing to see a decline in quality as the company prioritizes cost reduction. The recent shift towards the Indian IT market e.g. , while intended to cut expenses, might yield short-term benefits but could ultimately harm long-term success as a proven fact in many big companies.

Dear colleague,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review! I'm really sorry to hear you're not happy with Computacenter's corporate strategy, among other things. I will therefore respond briefly to your criticism.

Our company has changed a lot over the years. We have evolved from a British company with largely autonomous national units to a global group employing over 20,000 people in 25 countries around the world. As a result, we need a group structure to manage people, processes and services efficiently.

We have expanded into more and more countries over the years and in some cases provide services from these countries, and we are up against increasingly global competition. In the past, our competitors were local. Today, they are global organisations that often provide their services cost-effectively from different regions of the world. Furthermore, our customers are demanding that we provide services around the globe and in India. We must also respond to this. Our experience shows that customers are very satisfied with our services from near-shore or off-shore regions.

It's a combination of the manageability of a global organisation, the constraints of global competition and our long-term competitiveness.

An important aspect for our employees in this context is that our strategy is always geared towards the long term so that we remain profitable in the long term, as described above. Linked to this, the ‘hire-and-fire’ mentality adopted by many large tech companies in recent years, is not what we stand for. Our goal is sustainable growth. As mentioned above, this also means remaining competitive and acting responsibly in order to be and remain a secure and stable employer.

It seems like you have some concerns about this – you can always talk to your manager about it, or if you're located in Germany, you can ask your questions or share your thoughts at one of the next Hybrid Town Halls. You can also reach out to me directly via email at eva.fiene@computacenter.com.

Best regards
Eva Fiene
