Weiterbildung: Plurasight Zugang, on site Python Kurs
Jung, dynamic and professional colleagues. Diverse cultures and international atmosphere. A healthy mix of genders that is refreshing for the IT and Finanz Industry.
Recruitment process is fast and professional. HR is very friendly and creates a comfortable atmosphere. Process is well thought, with a mix of behavioral discussions, communication and logic skill tests and a culture fit discussion with Team-Lead and Head of Markets.
Not a 9 to 5 Job. But that's what should expect when trading 24/7 markets.
High emphasis on trash separation. Respect for different regimes.
First months training only, with presentations, online courses, and simulations. This helps me get up to pace with other team members. High emphasis on continuous learning with free provided online courses.
CTO is extroverted, funny, and friendly.
Top Gear, Snacks, Food, Coffee, Filtered Water.
Trading goes hand in hand with a high emphasis on communication.
Good compensation. I cannot assess how bonuses work yet.
Healthy gender and culture mix, don't know about their working conditions though.
Benefits. personal training, python classes, catered team lunch, fancy gadgets and expensive swag
nothing. love it
Ambitious, Nerdy and drive to learn.
Reconstruction in the office was annoying during phone calls.
more structures . Hire someone to do your calendars. Keep meetings shorter.
super cool office - wasting money on high end tech equipment. Cool for employees, but pretty useless
small shop
100% remote. 100% trust
If I ever decide to stop freelancing I would work here.
not special
management orders "zero-waste" catering, no more plastic bottles and trying !! to sep. garbage. Waste disposal could be better. 100% renewable electricity powered.
worked with 2 of the 3 partners Chief Executive Officer and CTO -> super supportive.
CTO delivered latest Dell XPS Laptop to my doorstep with extra monitors, docking station, keyboard and mouse. All brand new
could be better. a lot gets lost
STRONG technology background.
CTO is a tech genius.
Amazing learning opportunity.
I couldn't come to the office at all during Corona - Home office is really bad for team spirit
Passed the technical stages at Microsoft thanks to the knowledge I got at Convex
my manager took time to sit with me and explain so much to me. I really learned a lot!
nothing. I finished my studies and I will go back to my home country.
a lot of domain knowledge required . not super easy to understand
had none
Really great learning opportunities. Super up-to-date techstack and great know-how for the tech. Very individual support by manager, he was super aware of me and my strength and weaknesses. I learned to like the "hard" honesty. It reduces a lot of friction.
Requires a lot of domain knowledge. You don't get to do a lot of "dummy" work. You are expected to take ownership and responsibility for your actions pretty much from day one onwards. They will inform you about this - so I guess it isn't unfair. As mentioned before my manager is very straight forward and I had to learn to handle this at first.
The usual. Clearer structures and even better communication, but I like what they are doing and I think in time that is also getting better and better.
very supportive and coherent
didn't matter to me . don't care.
my manager ensured that I get enough time to study and whenever there was an issue he was making sure I get the time I needed to solve my personal affairs. We had colleagues with children and during Corona the company found individual solutions for all of them.
amazing learning opportunities . Everyone gets 1 hour per day to learn something new. That is essentially 2.5 days of paid learning per month. I will miss that. I have learned so much about technology and energy and people management. "Stakeholder analysis" is probably one of the most used terms by my old manager.
can always be more :)
17 pages code of conduct with half of that focussed around recycling and guidelines regarding behaviour .
sad to leave them behind. great support for each other. Corona made it more difficult, we worked remotely, but everyone was participating via teams etc.
there were none.
i was working directly with one of the partners - he is also the CTO of the company. he has a very broad and deep understanding of technology and is happy to share both tech and domain knowledge with his employees. I always liked that. He is pretty open minded and very straight forward and (brutally) honest. I come from a different cultural background, I had to get used to this at first, there is not "dancing around the bushes". I cannot speak about the other managers. The CEO is a pretty relaxed guy.
Sweet hardware. I was given noise cancellation headphones from Sony , a 3k Dell laptop and could freely choose some of the other equipment. The office is located on a cool campus with tons of restaurants. To my knowledge there is a plan to remodel the entire office during Corona, but I do not know.
open, monthly town halls and daily stand ups in my team. I was informed about all relevant decisions.
Only company I have ever been with like 20 different nationalities and people of alle genders, ethnicities etc working together productively. very chilled!
Mostly yes, there is a lot of domain knowledge that they will teach you. That wasn't always the most interesting for me, but my manager explained the bigger picture to me so that I could see the benefit of learning so much about the domain. If you just want to "check off boxes" this probably isn't the right place for you.
Individual progress planning, super modern technologies. We sometimes record my manager when he gives introductions/tutorials on new technologies. We just did a session on gRPC and Blazor. That is super helpful.
Steep learning curve, not really Convex' fault, but still not the easiest if you do not have any domain knowledge upfront.
It would be cool to have a more interactive onboarding experience and I really miss working face to face with my colleagues.
It's really cool. We have a short daily "stand-up" meeting across the team and present the items we plan to work on that day. Most of the time people are really prepared and it is really good to know what everyone is doing.
We are a small company in a niche market - image isn't really all that important to me, so I really don't know what to answer.
It's a bit unfair to score work-life balance during a global pandemic. My work schedule is actually fairly well designed and my manager is really respecting my personal situation during Corona.
Really cool. We get paid Microsoft certifications for cloud technologies or similar. We do 1 on 1 coaching and target audience analysis before presentations. I have a 60 minutes learning hour every day to improve my skills - I am encouraged to study project relevant topics, but I can also study other IT related topics.
I would never say no to a higher salary :)
I recently got a promised promotion and I got a bonus every year so far. I make more money than my friends in similar positions and VSOP exists. :)
Convex has guidelines on waste disposal and has done a donation round last year. There a printed aids above every garbage can. I guess I am happy with Convex on this one.
my team is super supportive. Whenever I have an issue one of my colleagues pitches in and helps me out. Even during the current home office situation we have video calls all the time.
we don't actually have any older colleagues, but I think that's a coincidence. I cannot really rate this.
My manager takes time for each one of us and knows our strengths and weaknesses. Convex introduced a daily learning hour and my manager finds study material to further improve relevant skills from tech to stakeholder/audience analysis we have done it all :)
The partners are really not cheap on this. We all got brand new Dell laptops for the home office time . I asked for a different keyboard and I got it immediately, same with mouse and additional monitors. We all have Bose or Sony noise cancelling headphones - which we do not have to share. The chairs in the office are high quality and super good for long seating jobs. The coffee machine is great and there is a gym with discounts a floor below the office.
Communication is always a super difficult topic, especially since we are both developers and traders and interests are not always easy to align. Convex created a permanent position for an agile coach to foster better team work - it is working well, I would say. :)
Convex has guidelines on equal opportunities and it is mandatory to go over these guidelines with one of the partners on your first day. I feel save and I think that I have the same opportunities as everyone else in the company.
I enjoy 80% of my tasks. I guess it is part of every job that there are tasks that need to be done.
Great team spirit in all teams, nice atmosphere even working from home and great development opportunities
I enjoy working in my team - we are always welcome to pitch our ideas and share feedback.
working from home in Corona times makes it a little harder - not Convex' fault though
to further develop professionally and personally is super important to Convex, which I feel in the opportunities and assistance offered.
my team is super supportive - whenever I need advice or support!
So verdient kununu Geld.
