Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Nice, mostly young team. Good public transport connections. Benefits are offered (fruit basket, coffee machine).

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

If the suggestions for improvement and the points raised above are taken seriously, it would really be a great company to work for on a long-term basis.

- Create more opportunities for promotion.
- A significant increase in base salary.
- Better training also for supervisors (communication, conflict management, etc.)

Feedback from superiors could be improved (often a problem due to time constraints), Information often comes late to "normal" employees (mid- to long-term goals, etc.)

The bosses make an effort to inform the employees about the current state of the company at least once a year

Within a team, cooperation is generally good, even if there are certain taboo topics (salary, overtime, etc.).

Work-Life-Balance

Basically good, since flexible. Of course, holidays have to be coordinated with colleagues (substitutes). Longer holiday periods tend not to be appreciated. Holidays during the holiday and Christmas season sometimes a bit problematic. 2 days attendance in the office is compulsory and no exceptions are made (also for part-time, etc.). Core hours from Monday to Thursday, shorter on Fridays.

See also key point working atmosphere. Feedback needs improvement. Goals not clearly defined (also not for the individual employees). Distribution of tasks leads to unequal prerequisites, even within a team and in the same position. Employees are not really involved in decisions, but are more likely to be presented with a fait accompli. Officially, criticism is desired, but superiors then often take criticism too personally.

Interessante Aufgaben

The range of tasks is varied and interesting. Due to the unequal distribution of tasks, the individual workload is sometimes not distributed fairly either. It is possible to (co-)shape the area of responsibility yourself within the framework of the tasks assigned to you.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Equipment is provided and special requests are sometimes fulfilled on request. The heating/air conditioning in the building is rather ornamental.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

2 stars, as social benefits are offered and salaries are paid on time at the end of the month. Otherwise, the starting salary is very low. There is an annual salary adjustment, which does not allow you to make big leaps due to the said low starting salary. Bigger salary jumps are not possible, or hardly possible. There is a bonus system, but this does not compensate for the low salary. In relation to the low salary, the workload is (often) very high.

Externally, the image is good. As the company has grown a lot lately, it partly does not live up to its own standards anymore.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Virtually no opportunities for promotion, not even with time. Further training is possible, but you have to take care of it yourself and justify it.

Thank you very much for your feedback and your suggestions for improvement. We would like to comment on this.

Yes, it is true that we have flat hierarchies at FGK and therefore not so many career levels are offered. Nevertheless, from our perspective managers and employees are equally responsible for the employees career path at FGK. We want both - employee and manager - to discuss further development opportunities together, for example during appraisal interviews, and thus create perspectives for the employee's further professional development. It is absolutely right that it is important to train oneself, because this demonstrates not only initiative and self-motivation, but also a strong work ethic and the will to constantly improve. Taking responsibility for your own professional development is an important step forward. And, honestly, it is quite common to justify external trainings to one's line manager. And - please also consider - all kind of promotion always takes some time.

As far as starting salaries are concerned, there is of course always the question of what salaries you compare your own with. We are convinced that our salaries are in line with the industry, but admittedly we cannot compete with those of the very big players in the industry. However, we periodically review the salaries of all our employees and adjust them accordingly, always depending on the performance of the company and of each individual. Apart from that, our social benefits are really something to be proud of, also because they significantly increase the net salary if you take a closer look.
And: We have so much more to offer at FGK - don't forget that.
