Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

The social/environmental purpose of the company, as well as its focus on internal diversity & inclusion, are very refreshing. It makes you proud of your work; I am happy to tell people about what I do. And also, I cannot say enough how fantastic my direct colleagues are.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

My biggest complaints before are quickly improving: work-life balance was the biggest one. But now that we have a larger team, the workload is much more manageable and the work-from-home option has contributed to my own quality of life, productivity, and satisfaction. Can't speak for other teams, but I am a happy camper these days.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

The "half vacation day" is a mystery. Why is it still not possible to work longer during projects, and then during down times take an occasional short day to compensate for it, if arranged with my manager? Why do I need to use limited vacation allotment for four hours that I have certainly already logged as overtime several times over?

Arbeitsatmosphäre

The team spirit with my direct and even indirect colleagues is excellent. Coworkers actively approach to ask how they can support me, and follow through on collaborations. Everyone champions each other, helps each other learn, and celebrates successes. I spent several years prior to this at a DAX 30 company; this sense of can-do togetherness is definitely unique.

Kommunikation

Since the coronavirus pandemic started, management has kept us constantly informed and updated. HR is very open and responsive to questions.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

As mentioned before, colleagues are fantastic. Skilled and competent, but more importantly, open, supportive, and appreciative.

Work-Life-Balance

We started working from home right at the start of the pandemic, and since then, the company has shown a keen interest in, and openness toward, learning how everyone feels happiest and most productive, and designing their working model accordingly. It wasn't always this way, but the new focus on individual working models is very welcome. It shows that management adapts -- and also that our HR team is simply terrific.

I feel that my manager -- and her manager -- want me to have a work environment in which I feel productive, challenged, and supported. I can come to them with problems and feel that they are taken seriously.

Interessante Aufgaben

Definitely interesting work! Sometimes the variety is almost too much -- we have a wide range of diverse projects that need to be accomplished in short time. But that is the nature of communications work. We have built up a bigger team over the last few months and the spread of responsibilities is becoming more manageable. I can now focus on and enjoy what I do rather than ticking off tasks in a hectic rush.

50-50 gender balance across all management levels; nearly 50-50 gender balance across staff; more men in parental leave than women; 50+ different nationalities; it's the most openly diverse company I have worked for.

Arbeitsbedingungen

I admit I was not satisfied when I started; overtime was simply expected (of all positions and levels), and you had to struggle to obtain any kind of compensation for it. The company still thought of itself as a "startup" and offered pay and hours accordingly. That has changed a lot. The company has grown, and there are now processes and expectations more suited to a medium-sized enterprise. Especially the new working models, with more open options to work from home, have increased satisfaction and productivity a lot.
