Significant challenges with micromanagement and providing meaningful feedback
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Trust your employees, focus on the collective, and view the organization as a holistic system—because, in reality, you have the capability to do so.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Initially, everything seemed perfect—people were welcoming, everyone offered praise, and the culture felt genuinely supportive. However, the moment you make a few minor mistakes, you're essentially "canceled." It's paradoxical that a company culture presenting itself as warm and encouraging can turn so critical and unsupportive when you face learning curves.
There also seems to be a noticeable undercurrent of power plays among individuals. Frustration is often expressed through subtle gestures rather than open, honest communication. This is deeply disheartening, as what once appeared to be a positive and collaborative environment has shifted into a space that feels more like a breeding ground for workplace bullying. It's also strange that the feedback you do get is rarely constructive in nature. Instead, it often feels as if minor issues are being nitpicked for the sake of criticism. Typically, the ratio is 80% negative to 20% positive, which rarely feels justified. Feedback sessions take place almost monthly, last up to 60 minutes and tend to focus on perceived personal shortcomings rather than providing meaningful, actionable input.
Kommunikation
Communication is genuinely poor, and it's clear that there are significant issues despite the roles and responsibilities being defined. Most communication flows top-down, and the overall structure feels highly hierarchical.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Sometimes I wonder why there are so many workshops aimed at improving leadership teams and their behavior when their approach fundamentally revolves around the principles of Corporate Darwinism and a profit-first mentality.
Interessante Aufgaben
Everything is micromanaged. Every step of your work has to go through at least four feedback loops. Rather than trusting the work and empowering people, the process is controlled from A to Z, leaving little room for autonomy or creativity.
Image
The company's carefully crafted public image stands in stark contrast to its internal reality. A culture of tolerance for superficiality has allowed critical issues like fair pay and equality to be overlooked. This neglect has created a toxic work environment characterized by cutthroat competition and a lack of solidarity.
