Great company with smart people, but where the work environment has changed a lot in recent years!
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
The culture, the variety of smart people, the freedom you could take and the variety of tasks were very exciting.
The different phases that you were allowed to participate in were also exciting and not boring.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Communication. The few good development opportunities, not necessarily career-related, but rather on the learning & development level to develop as a person in his field and too few development opportunities in other areas.
On the one hand fairness exists, but then still not, as the same people are always preferred.
Some managers participate too little, do not get involved and show too little. A no go!
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Better strategy, who is really needed and which positions are not.
Also stand by one's weaknesses and not communicate that everything is good when it was obvious from the layoff phase that the company was not doing well.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Generally, there is a positive working atmosphere, but this depends on the team. However, a lot of trust is given away, so that you could usually decide a lot freely.
Kommunikation
Communication is definitely expandable. It was always respectful, at eye level, and you could address topics honestly. However, it was rarely to the point.
Also, too few overarching company updates within our own team.
There were regular updates from the CEO and other executives, but sometimes more and sometimes less comprehensive.
Likewise, it was partly a two-tier society that certain people received regular information and others rather less.
With the layoffs, communication was unfortunately not optimal, so you were left with many unanswered questions.
I would also have expected more in terms of the level of empathy and compassion from the relevant people.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
The cohesion was always given. People supported each other, were there for each other and could also give honest feedback on certain topics.
The team and the people are also what made Forto what it actually was.
However, due to the further layoff phase, important people have left, which changes a culture and also the team spirit.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
I had a good working relationship with my managers. However, many managers are not real leaders in my eyes. People just get into leadership positions without getting proper training or development. Therefore, many are in roles that are technically great, but have no leadership skills.
People who are in the inner circle have the possibility to get exciting tasks quickly, to be promoted quickly or to get certain information faster. For others it is more difficult.
No clear distribution of tasks within the management, so many do not know what their tasks actually are and it comes to problems to make decisions.
Gleichberechtigung
DEI was implemented. There was a real effort to give equal opportunities to women. Gender pay gap was also not present at Forto, which was very much taken care of.
Yet, the entire C and VP level is made up of only men. There is no diversity here.
And furthermore, you notice strongly at Forto who is in the inner circle and gets to enjoy certain perks. This includes many departments.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
New employees received a good and competitive salary. However, there was a big gap with employees who were already at Forto. Here there were also problems with salary advancement, which was competitive.
Image
Previously a good image, but after the second layoff phase this has unfortunately deteriorated sharply and trust in the management has fallen.
