Since everyone is anxious about which wrong decision of the superiors (e.g. the purchase of unusable equipment in production) will be straightened out next at the expense of the employees, everyone is in the same boat. That welds together.

Direct supervisors are mostly fine , but have little to no upward influence.

Existing, but the company prefers to buy in expensive external consultants rather than rely on the skills of its own staff.

Social awareness: nonexistent. Long-time employees are treated like dirt and sorted out. Then the company is surprised that the know-how is no longer available and fall back on external consulting.
