I enjoy going to work and really love the atmosphere in general. The last year has been difficult as for many other start ups. This impacted the mood of many colleagues as jobs were not always safe.
In general, I am trusted a lot, my opinion is always taken into account and I have room to grow.
It varies from team to team. Overtime is not expected, but it is almost impossible to avoid it, especially during stressful periods. If someone is struggling and communicating it, solutions are sought together to decrease the workload.
You can tell that many colleagues are super passionate about their job and the company. The spirit and solidarity in the teams is great and you can always rely on support if you need it.
There aren't many.
Managers have different levels of experience, but all are committed to their teams. There is a relatively flat hierarchy, respectful interaction and an open feedback culture to address problems in order to solve them together. I never experienced unfairness or favouritism.
Macbooks, second screen and company phones (if necessary for your job) are provided.
I loved to come to the office, but I prefer to work from home now due to the current office situation (coworking space).
The founders provide very transparent updates about the current status of the company every month in our All Hands meeting. I have never worked at a company where communication is so transparent and honest (both from management and towards management).
Colleagues always try to pass on relevant information, but in some situations this can still be improved.
An above-average number of women is working at Hashtag You and many managers are female.
As in any other company there are tasks that are more fun than others. Overall, the tasks are very diverse and you are given a lot of (creative) freedom.
If you want to reorient yourself in order to learn something new, a change to other departments is possible after consultation with respecting managers.
free coffee in the office
Almost everything.
pretty much everything
The working atmosphere is characterized by mistrust and dishonesty. Many colleagues talk back about others, sometimes spread lies in order to be in a better position and then be promoted more quickly. The managers encourage this behavior.
I have never felt comfortable.
officially, everyone thinks the candles are great. but candles remain candles. the image is questionable, and nothing here is sustainable.
the biggest minus point. in the beginning, you're still motivated, do some overtime and are happy when the results are good. in the beginning, they want you to give 110%. as soon as you've done that, 110% is too less and they want 120%. we were then at 150% at some point when i pulled the emergency brake - much to the displeasure of the management. they then tried to convince me that i was suddenly doing really bad work. sorry guys, the only bad thing about it is your behavior!
it is also expected and demanded that you also look into the systems on weekends. and on vacation. they wanted to force me to install slack on my private cell phone. when i refused, i was nastily approached by the management.
the peak was that i was sick and they pestered me with emails, calls, sms and whatsapp and wanted to quote me in several meetings.
really 0 respect for employees!
personal relationships are more important here than being judged by performance. you will only make a career here if you work as a spy and denouncer for the management.
Salary below average. they offer mental health, which is absolutely ridiculous. if management behaved differently, there would be no need for mental health at all.
Some trash is separated. but in principle nothing is sustainable and produces a lot of waste.
the cohesion of the colleagues was terrible. i met few to no honest colleagues. smiling in front, stabbing in the back.
Some employees are obviously working against you, and management does nothing about it.
there are no older employees. older applicants are sorted out right after the application. they are too expensive and can't be pushed around like young people who want to make a career.
i have never had such disrespectful superiors in my life. they don't care about your private life, i realized this after several conversations. They are dishonest and play a false game, and try to squeeze you as much as they can. if you don't perform, they fire you - no matter what kind of contract you have.
It's ok.
Meeting marathon every week. There are way too many meetings, way too many slides that you constantly have to fill out for this and that meeting.
the meetings are for the most part neither goal-oriented nor helpful. even in large corporations there are far fewer meetings. if you still work there, have the fun at the beginning of a meeting and ask what the goal and outcome of this meeting is. either you don't get an answer, or it is dismissed with some management fairy tale.
they accept everyone, as most of them do not last long there
Selling scented candles can never be interesting. They promote theirselves as a tech firm, but it's all about the sales.
we were even told to go to the warehouse outside the city and pack packages because the shipping company didn't hire enough people.
honestly, how dare you?
There are not “elderly” people
