Arbeitsatmosphäre

This is one of a good points at Klarna, colleagues and managers are quite easy-going and all try to create a comfortable working atmosphere for everyone.

Kommunikation

They do try to hold meetings to tell us what's going on or review the survey about employees' sentiments. However, all of these meetings only show the flashy good sides and try to avoid sensitive topics, such as the lay-off situation, salary, or equality across different work locations.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Managers cover up for each other instead of taking an objective stance in matters. Once I had a communication incident with one of the managers, where the person was very rude and unprofessional. All the other employees that I talked to about the incident agreed that the manager was in the wrong. And this is not the only time, a number of other colleagues like me also had communication incidents with this manager being rude, harsh, and unprofessional. Yet, guess what, my direct manager or other involved managers had a chat with me about the incident and tried to shift half of the blame away from the rude manager and placed it on me.

Interessante Aufgaben

Repetitive and boring tasks, which do not even fit my job title and description. They just thought that once they had you, they could just force you to do anything or move you between different teams however they wanted, without even consulting your own opinions.

Gleichberechtigung

Regarding topics like gender, race, nationality, they do treat people fairly. However, regarding manager-employee relationship, there's a tendency to favor managers over employees when it comes to conflicts.

Arbeitsbedingungen

The office is really nice indeed and they try to provide you with all the equipments you need.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Very low salary in comparison to the average industry (by about 5k EUR for my case), very bureaucratic process for raise or promotion making it hard for employees to achieve, unequal salary scheme between cities in the same country

Image

They always preach "people are our greatest asset," however they unstrategically laid off 10% of employees just months after I joined and heard their preaching. They underpay and the direct managers do not proactively mention the topic of raise or promotion until you have to ask yourself. None of their actions so far have shown that they value their employees, it's all hypocrisy.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Absolutely zero chance or zero concern from the managers about my personal/professional development as well as career growth. I think they're happy if I just stay like this forever: taking responsibility for so many important things but earning low-level salary.
