Getting to know the facility

It was a very interesting time working at the clinic. Yet, it was disappointing to see how a health facility is managed more like an economic business. It is quite obvious, that the main purpose of the institution is to help and heal people with disabilities and diseases, not to see them as customers or sources of money and profit. In many ways, employees also suffer because of this capitalistic nonsense. It slows processes and lacks trust, so it is no wonder that several employees and patients alike complain about the mismanagement.
Also, it was a bit shocking, yet fitting into the general German scheme of backwards digitalization, to see that there are not enough digital solutions to ease planning processes and to integrate the digital tools in certain therapy settings. Maybe an update might be useful here.
Nonetheless, most therapists and care workers are very enthusiastic and engaged in their work tasks. They provide expertise knowledge and could help very well. They are important for a functional and running system.
Only they should be valued more, by personal gratefulness of their superiors and fellow colleagues.
All in all, it was a grateful experience and I think everyone who has accompanied and supported my learning process.
