The feedback after rejection could be improved
I applied via LinkedIn and got a very quick invitation to my first interview with HR.
The interview was very nice and I felt very comfortable. During the interview, as many others according to what I’ve read. I was told I was going to receive an online task.
The online task was very well written but it said it needed to be completed in 3h which made no sense for the amount of worked it needed. After asking about this I was told I could take as long as I needed to deliver the task.
I dedicated 4 days to it, delivered what was asked and beyond, including a small discovery process, sketches, low and high fidelity wireframes with annotations and a final prototype.
Here’s where the bad part starts: I delivered my task on a Monday and didn’t get a confirmation response until Thursday. By next Monday I got a standard rejection with no feedback and when asked for feedback, I didn’t get any.
Now the weird thing is, I sent a Figma file, Figma Prototype and FigJam file. When reviewing the sharing permissions, the only person that showed up as having access was the HR guy that interviewed me, no one else. The FigJam file didn’t have anyone on the sharing permissions modal.
This makes me think that my task was partially reviewed by HR rather than by a UX/UI Designer, and my FigJam file wasn’t even opened. I read the comments in Glassdoor after delivering my task, so it wasn’t too much of a surprise, but it still felt very disrespectful, dishonest and like a waste of time.
After a week, I saw they posted the role again on LinkedIn.
