Company makes effort to create great atmosphere but management have a lot of room for improvement

It's modern and flexible, they are quite new (2018) and you can see that in the working environment. You have a very flexible work from home policy and on top of that when you go to the office you can bring your dog, they also offer supplies such as drinks, fresh fruit and snacks . The onboarding by the HR is very well done and structured, you are informed in advance, and have a welcome overview on your first day.

in my opinion from the management side there is a lot of room for improvement , as the onboarding is quite disorganized and very much do it yourself and find your way alone, with no alignment of objectives/strategies and expectations. In the onboarding process with your team you should learn which are the objectives of the team, of your role, and how you can help your team to achieve the big goal. And also key elements which manager/director already knows that can make your way smoother, e.g: the list of right people to talk to from the other teams makes sense for your role, overview of the projects that are going on right now, of the goals and plans for the quarter and next year.What I miss is more strategic thinking and process to organize how things flow, right now it is very ad hoc and people just try to talk to as many people as possible to get things done. This creates confusion, lots of time lost ( as there are different teams working on the same thing in parallel without clear alignment ) as well as conflict among the teams.

I see that the company itself tries to create a great atmosphere ( with the perks described before) but these other points about direct management have a mucher higher impact in the daily life of an employee and need to be addressed in order to don't lose great talents.
