Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

- Awesome colleagues to collaborate with
- Option to work remotely from different countries (short term)
- Fascinating product and a wide-ranging clientele

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

- Management lacks sufficient experience
- Numerous hiring mistakes have been made, yet these individuals are persisting due to the exceptional performance of their teams
- Reluctant to fully relinquish control while still expecting staff to be proactive and accountable

Verbesserungsvorschläge

- Bring in experts and allow them to execute their tasks without micromanaging every minor detail.
- Ensure equitable compensation for employees; avoid underestimating their worth or attempting to reach the lowest salary range.
- Pay attention to feedback and take concrete actions based on it.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

The working environment is highly amicable, allowing you to forge numerous friendships within your team and other divisions. Stress is minimal to nonexistent, and everyone is generally prepared to offer their assistance.

Kommunikation

Loads of meetings go on where company news gets shared (like the weekly Townhall, quarterly All Hands, and a few others). Sometimes, it kind of feels like there are just way too many meetings, and the big stuff (like around 10% of the crew getting laid off) only gets told to us at the very last moment.

In general, it's pretty easy to talk to anyone from the big shots (C-level) to the VPs in the office. But here's the flip side – those big shots can get super involved in your day-to-day tasks, and it's like they're breathing down your neck sometimes.

The whole company is spread out over different spots, but the communication mostly revolves around the office scene. They keep reminding you they want you in the office, like, all the time.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Your coworkers are generally there to lend a hand and provide genuine assistance, unless you happen to cross paths with one of those managers or ex-consultants who seem to have their schedules jam-packed with who-knows-what and lack expertise in the actual subject matter. But apart from that, you've got a bunch of motivated and knowledgeable individuals in the mix.

Work-Life-Balance

Work-life balance is a strong suit. You can easily snag some time off at short notice pretty much any time throughout the year, and remote work is also an option for a stretch. However, there's this "suggestion" to use up any leftover vacation days by the end of the year, so it's probably wiser to take them earlier on.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

The top tier consists of three youthful gentlemen brimming with ideas and high motivation. However, their collective experience in managing and expanding a company is somewhat limited, as this is primarily their first or second professional endeavor. Regrettably, some signs and feedback are overlooked or not given the due consideration, resulting in frequent personnel changes and a constant sense of urgency.

Despite this, the C-level remains deeply entrenched in the day-to-day functions of the business (such as sales, marketing, and product), steadfastly believing that they have the optimal solutions, even though they are surrounded by individuals possessing more extensive experience.

Interessante Aufgaben

The workload varies – sometimes you're handed intriguing tasks, and other times you're left to figure things out on your own. On the whole, there's a good number of issues and challenges to tackle, so boredom isn't likely unless you're actively seeking it. Plus, they're all ears when it comes to your suggestions for new ideas or ways to make things better.

Gleichberechtigung

I'd reckon there's room for improvement when it comes to gender diversity. Take the engineering crew, for instance – it's all gents except for QA/Design. On the flip side, you check out other departments like HR, and you won't find any guys there.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Not a lot of older folks around, so it's kinda tricky to make a fair assessment. Every now and then, it seems like respect is based more on how old you are rather than how much you know.

Arbeitsbedingungen

The office setup in Frankfurt is fantastic – it's all hip and contemporary, right by the water, and there's a ton of space to spread out. They even stock up on coffee, snacks, and there's a fridge with beer. The kitchen is huge too, so you can unwind after hours if you've got company.

Standing desks and comfy chairs are the norm, but when it comes to laptops, it's a bit of a struggle to get something above average. Even if you manage to snag a MacBook, which eats up like 2-4% of your salary or even less of your total comp, it's barely enough to handle the necessary tasks. Honestly, I don't get why us engineers aren't getting the machines we really deserve.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

The staff is often reminded that we're doing our part to save the environment by cutting down on paper usage and substituting it with digital counterparts. These digital clones run on devices like PCs, tablets, and phones, although the production costs of these devices are conveniently left out of the equation.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Paychecks are never late, but the whole deal about salary ranges is a bit murky – they don't really lay it all out for you. When you're sealing the deal on an offer, they tend to nudge you towards the lower end of what you should actually be getting. The bumps in salary are lagging behind what you'd typically see in the job market, and they're falling way short of keeping up with inflation.

Sadly, the benefits package isn't exactly overflowing either. You won't find stuff like company pension schemes (bAV) or job tickets, and other perks are a bit thin on the ground too.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

They've got this educational fund, which isn't exactly overflowing, but it's sufficient to cover a European conference trip or grab an online course.
