I recently had a job interview for a Senior position that did not go well at all, and I couldn't help but feel like the odds were stacked against me from the beginning.
I was interviewed by two unprepared individuals. It all started with a lack of structure or clear direction, and many awkward silences. There was no apparent agenda or set of questions to guide the conversation, making it difficult for me to understand what they were looking for in a candidate.
One of the most frustrating aspects of the interview was the attitude of one of the interviewers. Right from the start, he displayed a dismissive and condescending demeanor, making it clear that he was not taking the interview seriously. His body language and tone of voice gave off a strong vibe of disinterest, which made it difficult for me to feel at ease.
When I attempted to discuss my experience and skills, he seemed disengaged and apathetic, failing to ask follow-up questions or provide meaningful feedback. It was almost as if he had already decided not to hire me before the interview even began.
This lack of engagement left me with the impression that they were not genuinely evaluating my suitability for the position but were merely going through the motions.
The overall experience was dispiriting, leaving me feeling undervalued and frustrated.
It was clear that the interviewers were unprepared and had an antagonistic attitude throughout the process, making it virtually impossible to showcase my qualifications and engage in a meaningful discussion.
In the end, I left the interview with a strong sense that Pliant might not be the right fit for me. A lack of professionalism, disorganization, and a dismissive attitude from the interviewers all contributed to a job interview experience that I hope to never encounter again.
It's essential for any company conducting interviews to be adequately prepared, maintain professional behaviour, and show genuine interest in the candidates. None of this happened.
After three rounds of interviews, all I got was a generic rejection e-mail.
This is unskillful, inconsiderate of the candidate's time and energy, and overall disrespectful.
