Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Some managers who really drive and motivate teams. Few last long enough though.

Communication, Strategic thinking, Internal Politics and tussle between different functions.

Hear your own employees to understand what kind of projects we need to execute instead of spending thousands of euros on Boston Consulting, McKinsey or any other consulting company.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Terrible working atmosphere throughout the company at the moment. Everytime it gets better, there is a reorganization/ resizing announced which makes people unsure of their jobs. There is no understanding of the importance of internal Subject Matter Experts. The company is currently filled only with Managers who spend thousands of euros on external consulting or service companies.

Kommunikation

Multiple townhalls are held throughout the year to 'improve' communication but in reality, these are just marketing events for new teams which have been reorganized. The important information is either not presented or is presented partially with a disclaimer saying 'things are still under discussions'

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Working relationships with colleagues are good in general.

Work-Life-Balance

This depends a lot on the specific team and projects you are working on. Since a lot of important projects are being stopped, work-life balance is good.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

There are some good managers in the company but in my case, the manager is definitely not suited for the role. He has no understanding of the team or the ongoing projects. He is unable to define the strategic direction for the team and often just repeats the same information shown in the townhall without really understanding it.

Modern offices with very good design features and equipment.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

People with IGM Tarifs have decent pay and well negotiated periodic increases. Salary increase for AT employees is not even matching current inflation rates. Also, the performance related bonuses were only paid out to a few employees. You are not eligible for the bonus for 2023 if you handed in your resignation on 30th December and left the company in March 2024.

The image Sartorius provides to the world is very different from reality. With everthing that has happened in the last 12-18 months, I cannot imagine anyone within talking good about the company.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

No chance to grow in your career once you reach a certain level. There is a strong bias with some Head-of level managers to hire only German/French-origin people to manager positions. Other Europeans, north africans and non-europeans have absolutely no chance to reach such positions in Germany or France irrespective of the kind of work you show.

Sartorius has grown very dynamically in recent years. Such growth brings with it and many changes that do not always have an immediate positive impact - but they should do so in the long run.

One last note: Regarding the topic of diversity in our management, you might be surprised to learn that 70% of our leaders aren't German, with a total of 61 nationalities represented in management positions.
