Unclear salary structures and unattainable goals for salary increase, zero to little motivation to provide adequate ergonomic office equipment, no feedback culture, communication between management and other employees lacks clarity and respect and does not mirror what is supposed to be a flat hierarchy, unwillingness to hire enough people to make sure that workload is spread evenly.

Arbeitsatmosphäre
Generally good because people feel like their job has a purpose and because colleagues treat each other respectfully and nicely. The fact that promotions are near unattainable and that managers communicate very poorly dampens the mood though and leads to a high turnover of people.
Kommunikation
Bad communication is probably on of the biggest issues at smartpatient. Goals and ambitions are not communicated clearly, past failures and lessons learned are not communicated either. Information frequently doesn't make it if from management all the way down to those who need it in time.
Work-Life-Balance
A definite plus of working at smartpatient are the flexible work hours.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Mangers have been known to openly blame and shame employees for mistakes on public channels or shout at team leads in a public setting. Employees are barely involved in planning or decision-making. Managers have privileges that other employees do not have although a flat hierarchy is being advertised heavily.
Interessante Aufgaben
While tasks themselves are frequently interesting, they are not always challenging in their quality but rather in their quantity. Hiring enough staff to make sure people's workload is split evenly is not regarded as a necessity.

Arbeitsbedingungen
Office chairs are held together with superglue. Any request for better office equipment will be laughed off and countered with an "we will provide better chairs once people come to the office more". There seems to be no understanding for the fact that employees will come in happily and frequently if the working conditions at the office meet at least e.g. ergonomic requirements. At the same time, the office itself is very modern and well equipped with coffee machines.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
Being part of ShopApotheke, the company makes an effort to be sustainable. At the same time, there's frequent flying from Munich to Warsaw for "fun" trips among teams that are not split between Munich and Warsaw.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Unattainable goals for salary increase. The only way to receive a significant increase is a promotion to team lead. Achievement and effort is not reflected in salary at all. Repeatedly taking on tasks outside of what you were originally hired for and executing them with a great sense of responsibility will not lead to a promotion or re-evaluation of job title.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
There is no way to move up the ladder. Employees are not asked about their career goals. There seems to be no intention of developing talent further. There is no predefined L&D budget. Whether or not you can e.g. take courses to develop a specific skillset further is decided on a case by case basis.
