Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Ideal for beginners and hopefully soon to be appealing to experienced professionals as well. Synology has excellent product with a promising future and significant potential. Initiative and skills are valued and can lead to exciting projects and attractive career opportunities.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

There are still a few negative influences in management, and some teams attempt to tarnish the company's reputation. The company needs to address these issues.

Additional improvements include:
1. Offering more attractive conditions for high performers.
2. Reducing reliance on the Taiwanese headquarters.
3. Conducting more department-specific satisfaction surveys.
4. Introduce professional tools, reduce manual work, spreadsheets and such.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

1. Continue the good work; no one said it would be easy. Positive changes in the HR and German team are appreciated.
2. Conduct department-specific surveys to gauge members' satisfaction with their leaders.
3. Increase the gap between high performers and low performers to create a special force team!

Arbeitsatmosphäre

The work environment has been quite negative recently, but it has been improving since the change in the HR Director and the introduction of new initiatives by top management and the Managing Director. However, some negativity remains and will take time to address. Some dissatisfied employees in a specific department are using Kununu to portray a negative image both internally and externally. This behavior may stem from a mix of management style and their own attitudes, skills, and experiences, causing them to blame others to deflect attention from their own shortcomings.

Kommunikation

Communication from the managing director and top management has improved. While some information may occasionally get lost at the team management level, this tends to be more of an exception or individual oversight rather than a reflection of company policy.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

It's good, there's nothing to complain about. This was and still is the best part of working at Synology.

Work-Life-Balance

One star deducted for the absence of a home office. However, without that consideration, the work-life balance is excellent. Employees take significant time during work hours to prepare and enjoy breakfast, and there are long breaks for smoking and lunch. Low performers—often the same individuals who voice complaints on Kununu—seem to have nothing to lose, finding creative excuses for not meeting their goals.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Most managers are doing their best at both top and team management levels. However, as noted earlier, members of one specific department are unhappy but haven't voiced their concerns to the managing director. Review bombing on Kununu won’t lead to improvements. Nonetheless, recent changes in the team offer hope that this issue will resolve over time.

Interessante Aufgaben

There are plenty of interesting tasks and projects available, but they require:
1. Willingness and proactivity
2. Capability

Those who complain about the lack of engaging tasks often lack one or both of these qualities, yet they excel at voicing their frustrations on Kununu and blaming others.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Working conditions are getting better. While some processes may take longer and nothing is perfect—no company is, after all—there have been positive changes. The chairs have been replaced, the office has been remodeled, and decoration is currently underway. However, it still feels quite cold and sterile. We'll see how it looks once everything is completed.

Initial adjustments have been made. However, the gap between low performers and high performers has narrowed, which may discourage high performers from going the extra mile. It’s crucial for the company to align salaries with industry standards, set higher expectations for new hires, and provide opportunities for high performers to earn more for their extra efforts and not leave.

The brand image is excellent and is the primary reason for the product's success and popularity among customers and partners and achieved sales results.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Opportunities are available, but the training provided focuses more on enhancing necessary skills rather than improving employees' CVs. This highlights the clear disconnect between the company's needs for skills and employees' desire for strong CVs, resulting in frustration on the employee's site.
