I've never been treated so well at a job before

Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

I had a horrible job before coming here, with absolute bullies as team leads/ upper management, where nothing except for incredibly short term (I'm talking same day) goals or benefits were talked about. If an employees actions make the company numbers look good today but completely screw us over tomorrow, they were still celebrated because all that mattered was the numbers today. The clients didn't matter, employees didn't matter. So maybe it's because I came here from such an absolute dumpster fire that I have been nothing but impressed by how well everything here is organized. someone had mentioned organized chaos, and I do believe that is a very good description. It is chaotic, its a very fast paced environment that puts pressure on you to perform, but they are still incredibly well organized and put the trust in you to manage your day and to do your job.
I also find it great that from day one you are encouraged to share your opinions, your criticism. The culture here seems very focused on improvement so you are never scolded if you have constructive criticism to give, on the contrary you are encouraged to do so,

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

One of my colleagues mentioned that a low season comes every year, and for some reason, every year tourlane seems to believe that it won't come, and are then unprepared for it each time.
I am seeing that. I was part of a large wave of new hires, and now the entire sales department is struggling because there are not enough customers and it seems that no extra care was taken to account for the large influx of new sales agents which has now forced everyone to do cold calling even though that's not part of our job description and everyone was assured that we would not be doing any of that during the hiring process, but we just won't be able to manage without doing so.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

Some buffer breathing room during onboarding would be great, so you're not constantly late to all your meetings, or missing things because you had to go to the bathroom.
Also when decisions are implemented there should also be some warning, not a hey starting today you need to fit an extra task into your schedule whether you have time for it or not. At least a few days if not a week of warning.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

The atmosphere is great. I've been in a few meetings where colleagues share their frustrations, but from upper management incl. team leads I've so far only experienced a lot of effort towards positivity

Kommunikation

Things change in the company constantly because there is a lot of emphasis on growth, so it happens that changes are announced same day they go into effect or a day in advance. But besides that I actually really appreciate the monthly meeting that everyone participates in and that everyone has the opportunity to speak up and address even the highest of upper management (CEO included)

Kollegenzusammenhalt

From day one the colleagues have been nothing but supportive! Everyone has been so nice and reached out on their own to make me feel welcomed.

Work-Life-Balance

I've only been here for a short amount of time and assured that it gets better as I get better at the job, which I do believe because I know that it takes me as long as it does to do the job because there is so much that I don't know about the countries that I'm selling and it takes a while to look into everything, but even now I can already tell that I'm getting faster.
During onboarding though your day is so fully packed with meetings and trainings that there is no time planned in for so much as going to the bathroom. At this stage I am also doing hours of overtime multiple times a week.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

As I said everyone has been great. My team lead answers all my questions, is always there to help me do something, even if it's the third time I've asked him for help on the same thing. I've honestly never had such a great team lead

Interessante Aufgaben

Perhaps I will get bored like some of the other people mention here, but since I'm still learning and imagine will continue to do so for a while yet I find the work very interesting! I'm getting to know so much cool stuff about so many countries!

Arbeitsbedingungen

I'm in home office so I cant speak for the actual berlin office, but I was having issues with my laptop from my first week and was in close contact with someone from IT who was super helpful. He spent about a week trying different things to get my computer to work and when it came to the point where all my work ended up getting deleted one day he sent me a new one next day, it came that same week.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

From what I've been told (albeit) in official meeting, it seems that there is actually a lot of effort being put in to make tourlane more eco friendly. It being a travel company, there are obviously very large obstacles and only so much that can be done, but I appreciated the passion shown towards trying to move in a better direction

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

The base salary is indeed incredibly low, but unless I misunderstood how the bonus system works, there is no way for you to only get the base salary unless you didn't sell a single trip for a whole month
