Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Office locations, generally good people working on the projects.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Group management is disconnected, and I do not think the employees believe in it any more. Compensation is now definitively too low for what the company offers...

Verbesserungsvorschläge

Serious changes in the group management and the group strategy are advised! If your employees do not believe in the management and the strategy any more → the company will fail. Unfortunately, I believe that this is the case here. I feel a huge disconnect between group management and employees.

The existing culture has been removed, but not been replaced. It is unclear what we stand for now: Do we want to be just another Accenture clone? A greenwashing company? This is something the company must work on!

And a strategy and identity without the buy in of the employees is not worth a lot. Instead of trying to convince the employees that the strategy (that has failed us the last years repeatedly...) is right, why not start listing to your employees and adapt?

Arbeitsatmosphäre

In general, the atmosphere is good, but it has worsened significantly in the last years. Good people start to leave.

Kommunikation

The company does not like to communicate bad news. Instead, they are tried to be sold as positive or neutral changes. This makes the communication inauthentic, I often felt "lied at". There was some small progress in the last months.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Good colleagues collaborating. Makes fun.

Work-Life-Balance

It is your responsibility, but the company supports you in keeping a healthy work-life balance. However, keep in mind that this is a service company. So, in general, there is always something to do, and you have to actively take your breaks.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Usually good, but many changes (leavers, reorganizations etc.) and the new organization does not fully work (yet). However, this seems to differ quite a lot by department, and there are departments I would not want to work for...

Interessante Aufgaben

Usually good, but obviously, you can get a less challenging project occasionally.

Gleichberechtigung

A lot of talk and some actions. Still, there are e.g. women lacking, esp. in mid-management. No one seems to question why this is the case and what we should change.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Seems to be good, esp. compared with the competitors.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Top offices, good devices, good and helpful internal IT → What do you want more?

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Reality: Average. We do try to avoid being too bad, but that's it.

However, there is so much greenwashing and talks about "sustainability" and "impact" without any consequences, it's getting really annoying. If you want to do something for the environment: Do it! There would be many things (reducing air travel, getting rid of some customers, supporting minorities etc.) → but those might cost money. So we just keep on making nice slides and talks instead. This feels quite dishonest...

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Traditionally low, but has quite significantly worsened in the last years. Esp. as the other perks (like education etc.) were reduced without compensation. The company seems to invest only in the global growth, but not into the Swiss Workforce. I'm afraid this will backfire...

Image

Still good

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Training and education had been the cornerstone of the company but has been cut down quite a lot. It's still average, but not more than that.

Stefan SarbachCEO Switzerland

Dear colleague,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.

When it comes to our culture, in my point of view it hasn't changed as drastically, and there are many things to be proud of: Team spirit, the willingness to collaborate and help each other, teamwork and ownership, work-life blend and also happiness with ones' people lead - proven by our latest company-wide employee satisfaction survey. There's also room for improvement, don't get me wrong. But I am overall convinced that we do have a great culture that won't be removed or replaced. I'm glad that you also mentioned several of these positive aspects in your review.

You've raised concerns that we no longer invest in the local workforce. This is not our aim. Switzerland (and all other locations) remains very important to us, and we will continue to invest in local talent and serve local customers. We are building our organization globally to better serve our global customers, attract talent, offer attractive projects, share knowledge, and enable growth.

I think no one truly likes to bring bad news, however we're trying our best to be concise, transparent, and provide the necessary facts. Coming across as dishonest is the last thing we want. We do a lot to maintain dialogue through various formats like ask-me-anything sessions, fishbowls, Q&As, town halls, and more. I'm very keen to hear any suggestions.

If you have any ideas on how we could improve the disconnect between Management and employees, please reach out to me. I'd really like to discuss further. You can reach me through Teams or email, or meet me at the office in Schlieren, for example this Friday morning or next week on Tuesday.

Best regards,
Stefan
