Verbesserungsvorschläge

The company would benefit from implementing the following changes:
- Establish clear overtime regulations.
- Provide training for directors on effective leadership.
- Improve the process of matching employees with suitable projects.
- Actively listen to employees and address role mismatches, such as placing a backend developer in a QA role or a Product Owner in a Project Manager position.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

While some teams enjoy a positive atmosphere thanks to caring leadership, other are completely toxic (most of the teams), employees have much overtime and many directors undervalue their employees.

Kommunikation

Managers are unable to communicate properly to employees and also between managers. This is also caused due to distributed teams and never meeting in person.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Remote work led to some communication challenges among team members. Additionally, the company's strong emphasis on employee levels created a competitive atmosphere where everyone aimed to progress rapidly (the company has too many levels: junior, intermediate, advanced, senior etc..)

Work-Life-Balance

I struggled with work-life balance due to frequent overtime, and there wasn't a chance to reclaim overtime hours (Überstundenkonto). Meetings from 8 am to 7 pm, thanks to global teams (India, Germany and Portugal), dominated my days. The company primarily focused on meetings.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Directors sometimes downplay employees' potential for promotion and higher salaries. I observed a culture of finger-pointing, with less support and constructive feedback. Directors often engage in discussions without taking action. If you're dissatisfied with your role or project, seeking assistance from them doesn't yield much help.

Interessante Aufgaben

Projects vary in their level of interest and learning opportunities. Some offer valuable skills transferable to other companies, while others may feel more limiting in terms of professional growth.

Gleichberechtigung

I didn't sense much equity, though in some teams, it was occasionally more present.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

There are less older colleagues. So I cannot really evaluate this.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Modern offices, parking areas, reachable by public transportation. The best IT equipment and IT service-desk ever!

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Salaries in the company are often below industry standards for IT roles. They tend to assign lower-level titles (junior or intermediate) to pay less, making promotions elusive. Good directors lead only a few teams with competitive salaries.

Image

The company may present a beautiful image on news and social media channels, but in reality, it operates with a toxic culture and adheres to outdated management practices.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

While I had the opportunity to participate in various trainings, it's important to note that these often required sacrificing my personal time, including overtime and weekends.
