Successful in the market with interesting projects, but outdated tech, poor management and declining quality
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
There are occasional bright spots. We are currently successful in the market and involved in interesting projects. Additionally, some colleagues possess exceptional expertise and extensive industry experience, which is a great asset
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Since the IPO, there’s a strong sense that quality has significantly declined, with a focus on short-term successes rather than the quality and long-term partnerships we valued in the past. Additionally, it feels like there's a restructuring every week, which hasn't improved anything and has only worsened communication and motivation
Verbesserungsvorschläge
The company needs to start genuinely listening to its employees. Every year, employee surveys reveal dismal results, yet fewer than one in five believe that any real changes are made. Just because someone excels in their job doesn’t mean they’re suited to be a manager, and unfortunately, there are too many managers at Ionos whose behavior is damaging to the company. HR is aware of these issues but seems resigned, often responding with a shrug and the comment that this is known
Arbeitsatmosphäre
The atmosphere varies significantly depending on the team or department. Unfortunately, some senior managers / SVPs exhibit outdated management styles, including instances of unprofessional behavior like shouting at employees and taking credit for team achievements
Kommunikation
Like the atmosphere, communication quality largely depends on the department and team. While communication in the teams is generally effective, it becomes significantly more challenging at department level. Communicating with departments under another C-level can be a nightmare, often with politics and inefficiencies
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Our team lead is young, motivated, and eager to learn, with a positive attitude towards feedback and constructive criticism. However, as mentioned earlier, there are other managers in the company that you would never want to work with or for, due to their outdated and difficult management styles
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
The environment isn't a major focus here. We're using outdated technology, hardware, and data centers that consume far more energy than necessary. It's surprising that a company positioning itself as a public cloud provider is still relying on processors that are over 10 years old
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Salaries are in line with industry standards, but there are fewer opportunities to earn more especially when someone or the company performs well
Image
Ionos still struggles with a cheap image and doesn't present itself as a modern company, especially when it comes to the working environment and related aspects
Karriere/Weiterbildung
There is virtually no development plan in place. We lack clear job titles and career paths, making it challenging for managers to secure approval for training and development opportunities. Training budgets seem to shrink every year, making it even harder to support employee growth
