The project assignment was said to be 4 hours, by far that was not the case and the process ended with rejection because they could not run the code and my "clean code-linting" sloppiness.
I thought it would be polite to at least try to run and test the solution, rather than discard it without asking anything (feels there was no chance given that the project was standard and running it the same) and offering indirect feedback regarding few unused imports.
Normal CI/CDs have hooks and verifications plugged in, unused imports, dead code, formatting and some others are not a problem anymore.
Otherwise I had fun with my solution, I hope I was not the only one :).

Lieber zwei Teilzeitkräfte einstellen und so zwei vollwertige Mitarbeitende beschäftigen. Eine Vollzeitkraft benötigt eine Urlaubsvertretung, Krankheitsvertretung und im schlimmsten Fall einen kompletten Ausfall bei einer Kündigung.

Es kam nicht zum Gespräch. Drei Minuten vor dem Videocall bekam ich einen Anruf von der HR, dass sie übersehen haben, dass ich nur 28 Std./Woche arbeiten kann. Daraufhin gab es direkt eine Absage. Qualitäten wurden nicht berücksichtigt. Ich habe mich völlig umsonst auf das Gespräch vorbereitet.

You need to have a clearer structure for interviews. Open discussions are good but can’t be the only form of an interview process.
