It's normal in any company that sometimes people are laid off. It is not a taboo subject and an even clearer and more appreciative approach regarding employee terminations would be desirable. Also more remote work would be great (e.g. possibility to work remotely for consecutive weeks like a workation.)

I've never before experienced such a joyful environment in which both employees and managers have a great relationship with each other. The areas of responsibility are clearly communicated, processes well-documented. The onboarding of new employees is well-thought-of and you also get a buddy to help you get started. In addition, everyone in the company always has an open ear and door if necessary.
It is important that team leaders also receive training in this area, and you can tell because you are encouraged and receive constructive feedback within the company.
The colleagues are friendly and supportive. Also, the team spirit is ok. However, the HR department often causes unrest and uncertainty among colleagues. I also witnessed several occasions where colleagues did not agree with management decisions but did not dare to speak up during company meetings because of fear of consequences. There were examples where they could see what would happen if they had a different opinion.
